March 2013 Post Op "A New Life 2013"

Kraney' date=' I feel your pain! I was in the hospital for 4 days last week use to severe Dehydration and severe potassium deficiency. I had been throwing up and had diareah for weeks. Spent 3 different days in the ER prior to being hospitalized. I dropped more than 60 pounds since March 5th and felt like I was dying with every pound I lost. I am still in the regretful stage because I have not felt good one day since the surgery. To make matters worse I can not find a Protein Shake I can tolerate without vomiting. I am at a point watching TV commercials with food make me gag.

I wish you well on your tests. I went thru the same thing last week and the contrast is just so hard to drink and keep down. Keep us posted on your tests and health.

Sorry to hear that you were in the hospital. I hope they got you back n track. I've been out for a few weeks now. It's still been a struggle to get Protein in. Especially Protein Drinks they all make me wanna vomit. I am just trying to get more protein through foods now and it as been a struggle. I haven't lost anything since I was released from the hospital. :/ just trying to give it time. Have my first follow up with surgeon tomorrow. Hopefully it will all go well. :) I hope you are able to keep dehydration away!

I am getting so tired of this Plateau!! I gym, try make sure I am not deviating from the diet. I just cannot break past 38lbs lost so far. I am getting frustrated.

I know it will come, but got follow up with Dietician and Surgeon tomorrow and was really hoping for a lower weight to show on the scale.< /p>

Hello marchers! I have been a bad RNYer this past week. I had to go to Punta Cana for work and I fell of the wagon somewhat. Not meeting Protein goals, exercise was minimal, I had high fat and high sugar foods. I did not dump on anything which makes me scared that I will go back to bad habits. I drank with some meals and before and after too, sometimes I had a few sips of wine. I also had a high sugar piña colada and other fruity drinks. Before surgery it would take a lot of alcohol to get me buzzed. It seems the same is true after surgery. I didn't have enough alcohol to get me buzzed even once. I also did not get in my Vitamins at all and drank soda!

I am determined to get back to my good habits starting right now. But again it scares me that I was able to do all that last week with no repercussions. I even lost 5 lbs.

I hope everyone else is doing better than me!

I won't lie, i was on a plateau for almost 2 weeks, my surgery buddy said that you need to make sure you getting enough Protein and getting enough Water in. and no kidding the next day i lost almost 2lbs, and it is continuing.

give it a try, always eat your protein first, and make sure you getting enough water. drinking anything else but water, will most likely keep you on your Plateau. had constant losses for the past 3days.

It's a good thing. I thought all the other things I was drinking was good enough, clearly not. Let me/us know if it helps in the next day or two. I am almost 100% sure it will.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
