April Dates

I started looking into to wsl in 09. The surgeon i wanted at the time was only covered by 50% by my insurance. He was out of network by 16 miles and they would not budge. The place they would cover i refused to go to because they did not have a good track record and were not a coe hospital.

We ended up moving because of my husbands job, so along came new insurance. Went to yet another seminar for a new surgeon and i felt like he was just pushing cattle through a chute. That was fall of 2010.

2012 my husbands employer dropped wls from the policy but added it back this year so i jumped on it. Ended up deciding on a Dr in Bismarck Nd and loved his vibe and personality. I worked in a hospital for 12 years and you can start to know a Dr by his

demeanor.

I live up by the Canadian border so no matter where i go i have to drive for hours. I'm thankful he is almost four hours away, most of my specialists are 5 to 6.5 hours away.

I've failed in dieting most of my life. Never had a weight prob growing up, it started after i had my two daughters. I could loose 40 and gain back 60. But the last two years due to some illnesses i can't loose weight, i can gain it but its hell losing five pounds. Sorry for the rant i got carried away. I'm just so darn happy and keep pinching myself to make sure its really happening. Come on April 11!

I'm trying to make my own broths. Some good and some taste like well you know... But, I like to experiment so. I got some that are good to freeze and some break down fast. I was told to remember what i can eat in Soups and strain them. Hopefully this helps.

I have anthem as well! I guess they may have approved me early' date=' but my surgeon is against submitting early. They want to have everything the insurance requires in order, so the chances of quick approval are better. Make sense I guess, even tho the waiting sucks![/quote']

I have anthem bcbs. They did not require a six month diet and I have no medical conditions. I thought for sure it would be the end of the year before I would have surgery.. guess not!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
