Do you guys have a certain time that you stop eating? Like no eating past 9:00 or no? Does it matter?

Well, I was told that it really doesn't matter more calories in calories out. I know a lot of people stop after 7 PM. I don't get home from work till 6:30 so 7 is dinner time.

My doc doesn't have a rule about when to stop, just that we eat 5-6 1 oz meals per day and that the first one must be within one hour of waking up. I never liked going to bed with a full stomach, but given the amount that we are able to eat, I've been okay eating right up until bed when I needed to get the Protein in.

I purchased the one ounce containers made by Rubbermaid. We also got the ones that show 4 oz but have marks where 1 and 3 oz are.

Good luck.

thank you I guess it's time to do a little shopping lol

I use the measuring cups for liquid items. For Protein I weigh my meat. The amount that I can cram into a 2 oz portion cup is not 2 oz of meat.

I also went to Sam's and purchased a case of 2 oz portion cups so that I could limit the sizes for things and have to use a huge bowl for my 1 oz servings. Worked great when I was making the Jello for the liquid phase.

I also use the disposable 2 oz cups and I found some 1 oz Salad Dressing cups that work well too at Big Lots. They were cheap and it is helpful to have both sizes.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
