I don't know but I had surgery 1/25 and I'm losing very slowly so I feel your pain. I've always been a fast loser so I don't know what is up. Good luck to you. Sorry

It could just be Fluid retention, I always weigh myself after I go to the bathroom (#1 & #2) and before I eat or drink anything and basically the same time each day. You could just have retention AND not have a bowel movement... Don't freak over it, everyone loses real fast at first then it slows or levels off and then you have the stall, it happens to all of us. Everone is different, I am 10 months post op and only lost 50 lbs, I am 165 and need to be at 140 so I have 25 lbs more to go. I had a total of 75 lbs. to lose and it has been VERY slow. Stick with you diet and exercise and don't get discouraged it does come off but only with help from you thur proper portion contorl and exercise.

Workingmotherofthree I had my surgery the same day as you and I gained a pound yesterday too. I found out that my NUT really is nuts because they had me eating carbs for soft foods like oatmeal, grits and potatoes. I spoke with some of my other support groupies and found out that most Dr.s cut out most carbs and want you to eat mostly Protein. I am carb sensitive anyway and eating those things made me have cravings again! AARRRGGHH! So, I am cutting down the carbs and eating my Proteins from now on. I will let you know how it goes. I am also upset because I went to the "support" group that they offer at the office and everyone there was 7 to 10 years out and had a lot of regain. I think my programs nutritionists are giving out bad info and causing regain. I am following what I know works for me. I am blessed not to have a lot of problems post op but because I am not dumping or having nausea the food control is a bit harder. For example, I had Breakfast at 7am, it is now 9am and my stomach is literally growling! I thought the whole point of the surgery is to prevent hunger for the first 6 mths to a year. I am getting frustrated at 2 weeks out.

Bbdoodle- thanks for your reply. I will see how it goes in the next week.

Kathy's new life - my NuT hasn't allowed any food yet except for Protein shakes, cream of chicken Soup or any cream Soups until we are three weeks post op. I have added powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury the plain one to some Soups, or to diet ice tea. I also have had Tomato Soup which the nut recommended. I did accidentally lick my finger when I was making my husbands sandwiches so I had a lick of shredded chicken and fat free mayo which is on the next stage.

I am not sure if I overdid the Protein and Soup because paperwork says 4 oz of Protein Drink every other hour but I am able to drink more than that at a time. It also said to drink 4-8 of non calorie drink in between the odd hour.

I have a power point presentation from my NUT If you want it send me your email and I will forward it to you and maybe you can find something useful out of it.

Good luck and keep in touch.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
