Pcos ans gastric bypass

Recommended Posts

Hello all I am just wondering if anyone else had gastric bypass due to pcos? Just want to know how much it helped with the many many symptoms that come along with the pcos? I have see a decrease in my cravings for the carbs and the sweets and I actually got my period for the first time in a long time I am sleeping better . So I am just wondering if other people have the same pcos struggles

I have pcos and it was made me finally decide to have RNY. I will be two weeks out and already noticed some of the symptoms have disappeared. Though only time will tell when I am due for aunt flow. ;)

question ladies....I have ALL the symptoms of pcos except one which is I have VERY regular cycles....anyone else had pcos with normal cycles? I was told that I have a low egg count which sucks bc I'm only 24...could that be associated with pcos?

Libra lisa, I have had pcos since I was 18 and have always had a regular cycle. You should ask to be checked for pcos if you have other symptoms that point to it. I had to really push my doctor to check for it 10 years ago as there wasn't much info on it then. I've been blessed that my only symtoms are the cysts and of course, the weight gain.

I went to a fertility specialist for that very reason and after all the test that were performed she never mentioned anything about pcos and I asked her but if I'm not mistaken she said that there wasnt any test to diagnos pcos OR that she didnt test for that...I get confused because I'm not sure if it was her or my former gyne (who by the way told me that there were no test to determine if I'm infertile or not) I couldn't believe she actually told me that and after that I got a new gyne!

I also have PCOS. I had surgery on Jan 16th. I've noticed less facial hair, my skin was always broken out before and now it looks great, my cravings are pretty much gone. I haven't gotten my period yet but I suspect I will soon.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
