I may have to postpone my surgery until August because I have a new job and won't be eligible for fmla until then. I'm so depressed.

I'm so scared that it won't happen because this is the third time I've tried to get this surgery. It just seems like every time I try something knocks me down.

U can't take sick or personal leave? Some places give it to everyone every new year....... Nothing can be done?????

If I take all of my sick, personal, and vacation time, I would be putting myself at risk of losing my job if anything comes up between my surgery and August.

How much time do you need to take off? I'm only taking a week and a half. That'll use up my vacation time and one sick day, and I'll have the rest of my sick time in case something happens. August isn't too far away anyway. Don't give up, you can stay in the program and continue with follow ups until you can get the time off. I know how you feel, this is my second time going through this whole process. I could've had it done in October of last year if I had had the vacation time available but I had to wait till this year. You can do it!!

You all make me glad I am a contractor therapist and make my own schedule. Right now I am focusing on my health issues so I don't work, get unemployment, short term disability pending, and my husband's income is fine for us. Blessed. Sometimes u don't realize it.

I only took a week off... worked on Monday, had surgery on Tues. out of hospital on Friday, and was back at my desk job on Tuesday... it wasn't a big deal for me.

Yes well I have a difficult Surg history and will have adhesion and intertwined intestines to deal with. I will take my time and lose at least 40 before I go back to working. Plus I took off as of nov due to my extensive health issues and inability to drive/work/walk(at times), etc.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
