March Surgery Dates

Recommended Posts

I had to do this six months thing... but how did you "fib" if you don't mind my asking. Lol... I have one more visit on the 28th, and I'm done!!

I cannot stress this enough, I cheated myself to be clear. The program is the way it is for a reason. I just do not think most people are able to follow the nut guidelines or they would not be having surgery. The 6 month for me was called a "Dr. supervised weight loss attempt" if this was successful for people they would not need surgery. But trying to change habits as soon as you can is always a good idea.

I did the same thing but with my teams approval to keep my BMI up. Now I am coming up with ideas to make sure I don't over eat. I am asking for appetite suppressant for the liquid portion prior to surgery. And I plan on using a childrens tea set to make sure I can put extra on my plates.

I had goals I had to meet each month with the end outcome being how I would eat after surgery. I was told to stay at a somewhat consistent weight though by my program administrator so I did not follow the nut's goals for me, just told them what they wanted to hear. And I just did not think I would get approved so did not take it as seriously as I should have. I need to stress that I do not think this was a good idea, just that I did it and now am paying for it by having a shorter period of time to "prepare". Though I do not know how much you can prepare for this, per my Dad who had this done 7 years ago you cannot even imagine what it is like until you are there.

Thanks' date=' Janel

I hope everyone agrees with me when I say the last thing we need in our group is a judgmental attitude, encouragement and positive reinforcement are welcome. That being said, I thought you may have been referring to the actual doctors' visits. I had a sheet I had to take every month to get signed and it was soooooo tempting to forge a few, but I resisted, that wasn't very positive thinking, and I needed the time to prepare anyway. Your posts are so encouraging! Please accept my apology if I offended! Best of luck![/quote']

No offenses taken, I feel as though I've cheated myself, by not having to suffer like the rest of you. I haven't had to give up anything. Because I am the world's worst in not eating sometimes only once a day. So my habits do have to change and my family doesn't always remember to make me eat. So I guess I have to ask my March Buddy's to start harping on me.

I do the same thing Janel. I usually have one meal a day and am worried about it. I am going to set reminders on my phone hourly to remind myself to eat something small. Until the liquid diet starts and then that will remind me I need to drink part of a shake. I also am going to be getting on Phentermine (an appetite suppressant) during the liquid diet. ***I also noticed today that an espresso cup is 2 oz. A lot of them come with a saucer which is nice and small. They come in all kinds of cool shapes and colors. I am going to use mine to make sure I am not over-doing it and I get to do it in style! LOL. 1/3 of one is about 30ml which if I am not mistaken is about our after surgery stomach capacity right? Or am I wrong on that?***

I feel I have to clear something up. I say I fibbed my way through nutritional classes but I did not. I was told to maintain and not to loose any weight and not to switch over my diet. mayo is very strict and would not allow me to have surgery if I was not ready. I have not had to chew food to be like applesauce. I've only been told to make peices smaller then the nail on my pinky finger. I feel as thought I've cheated somehow but I have followed every doctor's order to the letter and beyond.

Cool

Cool. My Dr supv attempt was successful for about 8-10 pds, then no more even w meds.... And we were focused on qualifying for WLS. I get it.

I love that site, I think I've read it 5 times already. I also am setting reminders for my phone. I have my husband's phone linked to my business calendar as well so he gets all the reminders too. Never hurts to have a backup. Oh and you just know my 29 year old daughter is eating it up that she gets to tell me what and when and how to eat and exercise. Pray for me that it doesn't all go to her head. The 6 year old is more compassionate towards mom mom.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
