It's night and day!!!! I only had to do liquids a week post-op but at 15 days out I'm still really not getting hungry so liquids were more 'oh yeah I need to eat' instead of 'oh my God I'm starving to death feed me now!!!!' It's pretty awesome the difference a day makes!!!! :)

Yes, I am home, although I do have a lot of pain, and taking lots of pain meds, but my doctors thought I Was doing great, they had me sipping on Water, which I did, then some broth, some sugar free Jello, and then finally some carnation instant Breakfast, and then told me if I can hold that down and pee then I could go home. Which is great to be home, but I think I would of preferred to stay an extra night at the hospital.

I know how you feel, I have to take my pain meds on the hour, this pain is horrible, didn't think it was going to be this bad. And to be honest, I think I would of preferred to stay at least an extra day or two in the hospital. It is so hard to get in and out of bed, wish I have a hospital bed at home lol. But don't worry sooner than than later you'll be in the comfort of your home. Just try walking around, trust me it might not seem like anything, but it helps with the pain, it helps with the gas and helps you to be able to use the bathroom quicker. But don't have push your self, no one knows your body more than you do, so do things when you know your body is ready for it. I wish you the best of luck and the quickest of recovery.

I am in so much pain right now, need my pain meds. But it is so hard to get in and out of bed. I have them own my night stand and it is so difficult to turn and get them from there, hope everyone else is doing well. Best of luck and a speedy recovery for those of us who had the surgery done already.

Yurielisa, do you have someone who can help you? It's shocking how soon they send you home from the hospital, I think. To hold down medical costs they send you home as soon as you're off IVs it seems. I wish they had a transition unit, something minimally staffed but just with people to help you do things like fetch your meds, or to keep you from overdoing it or whatever. Don't get me started!

Wishing you quick relief from pain and onto the "I feel fantastic" stage!

I thought I was sent home too soon also I really wish I could of stayed at least an extra day but thankfully I have a few friends who took some time off from work to help me out during the mornings until hubby comes home. My hospital does offer in home visits, but you have to meat certain criteria and I didn't qualify for it. I would of wished someone from the clinic was here I am in so much pain, and the pain meds I'm taking make me feel so drowsy and tired. But like I said thankfully spa friend is willing to help and thanks for your concern. It is greatly appreciated.

I'm still in the hospital, being discharged tomorrow. Feeling great! Have had Protein Shakes, Jello, Popsicles and Krystal lite. Walked a bunch. They took catheter out and IVs out. Only thing still in is the drain. Yuckie Took the first 24 hours to get the pain medicines to work. I was in extreme in extreme pain crying like a baby. Tried IV dilaudid, IV morphine nothing helped then tried Toradol and that was the magic answer. Pain went completely away. . Also glad u kept me an extra day. Very happy

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
