You are all so inspirational! I dropped the balls ages ago' date=' have lost twenty five kilos, about fifty five to sixty pounds. Feel pretty good, only want to lose about fifteen kilos more. (thirty five to forty pounds).

Does anyone else still struggle with head hunger or thirst verses real hunger? Pretty sure I've stretched my pouch, but I'm not gaining so I'm happy for now, but would like better control on intake at times.

I have had times where I've had dumping syndrome, very few, as they take too long to overcome to be honest, so I avoid them like the plague! Struggle big time with bread so don't eat it, have had a little success with burrito wraps or mountain bread, lots of salad and a bit of chicken or ham. Once a week is enough for me and my craving for bread is dealt with with that.

On the whole am very happy with the bypass surgery, verses lap band which I had first, and it almost killed me after eight years, causing so many problems I was virtually forced into the bypass, I was terrified, but I am so very very grateful now. My life is better, I'm healthier, happier, I wear a size sixteen to eighteen Australian sizing, I have a lot of excess skin which I'm looking into having it surgically removed from my belly to be honest, it just hangs there and no amount of dieting will remove it or make it go away, and I'm sure many of us are the same? I'd like to tighten up other areas, but on the whole, have the tummy apron removed will make me feel very happy.

Something else that makes me feel very happy? Seriously? Knowing you are there for me to contact should I have a question. Or I just need to share a victory, or just need to know someone is listening. I know most of you are in America, and I am in Australia but we have all started this journey together, at the same time. We have all struggled with weight issues, with the bypass surgery, some have blitzed it afte the surgery, or some were like me and had five or more surgeries or more to correct closures and needed stretches done to reopen them, you have all been there for me, and I'm thankful for that. I'm thankful for each and every one of you, for the support you offer to me, the joy you share with me too, and when I struggle, you listen and offer ways to overcome. I'm very thankful you guys are there at the end of the forums and answer my needs and questions. I have lots to be thankful for.[/quote']

And thank you for your support as well. It totally got me through all of the ups and downs. continue to do your best and lean on us as often as need to. you will continue to lose. Time and patience. There is no rush. One day at a time.

Nicole

Totally true. It's amazing how supportive everyone is here. It's really been a blessing. Even when we may have something we shouldn't. We get support even then.

I seem to go down in measurements over a month time. Then I'll drop 5 pounds the first week after stall breaks. Then I stall again. CW: 135

Hey guys so sorry it's been so long since I posted... I'm doing great I've never felt this good in my life... I've lost 192lbs... I started at 376 and I am currently 183... I bike 25-30 miles at a time 3-4x a week because I LOVE it... My job (I own a feed store) is sooooo much easier now... I can deliver twice as much in a day... My marriage is stronger than ever... I'm a better father to my daughter than I've ever been... I've never been this happy in my life... I hope all the December peeps are doing as well as me... Had my 6 month dr appt last week and he called me a poster child for the desired results from this surgery... Don't want to brag but if anyone is struggling remember follow the rules and work hard everyday and you can be exactly where you want to be....

That's awesome. All of it. Congrats :-)

Congrats all on your accomplishments and thank you for being here through all that I've went through and continue to go through in my personal life. I see no end w settling our estate w the ex. I'm totally stressed out everyday and its taking its toll on me. :-(

My highest weight was 267. But I started a diet and lost 20 lbs before starting the 6 month wait for surgery. I then lost only 10 in the 6 months. At surgery my weight was 237.

If you get your Protein in you shouldn't lose hair. My usual protein intake is between 80-100g/day.

Lord knows I do too. My boyfriend will move back up here. We were friends in HS and he is retired military that resides out of state. Hopefully by October or even September he will be here with me.

As for ex, he is just trying to run me into the ground. Stealing things from me. The latest is my travel camper, last week. I filed a police report but not sure if the prosecutor will proceed w it. I hope he does or else ex will just keep it up due to no consequences. Other than that there is a financial battle going on due to ex owing well over 30,000. He drained our retirement account against court orders.

Just a quick update:

I am feeling wonderful!! I am down to 147 pounds....that's so mind blowing to me...im wearing s/m shirts and 7/8 pants...this has been a trying process...the stalls and the head hunger, the emotions, the whole unknown....but it has been worth every struggle I have had! I would go thru all of it all over again if I had to :) I hope everyone is continuing to do great and feel good :) my original goal was 125 but I worry that may be too small for my frame so I have adjusted to 135- that puts me 12 pounds from goal in 8 months!!! I am so excited for me as well as everyone else!

125 was my original as well. I changed it to between 130-140. I'm at 133 as of today. I really didn't want to lose more weight but stress :-(

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
