The other morning I looked at myself in a picture I had daughter take' date=' full body, and for the first time since the surgery I thought I saw what I used to see. I deleted it immediately. Freaky!!!

I don't like the pictures taken. Only way I can see difference is a side by side comparison. I use intsta collage app on my cell to do that.

I couldn't tell a difference either! When someone would tell me how good I looked I would say I don't see it till the other day when I did a side by side and seen this!!!

easter was hard for me this year, 1st without my grandma as well as not spending it with my family. i actually decided to stay home (and got in a little gym time). the kids didn't really care to go to the in-laws so why bother, plus they were arguing so it pretty much ruined the whole mood and most of the day. can i just say teen girls are CRAZY! my youngest, 13 going on 30, might just do me in i swear...it was an over the cliff kinda day. add to it i've not been on track for the last couple weeks and it's been, (pardon the phrase) eating away at me. strangely warm food is difficult to eat, as well as meat (protein) and i just can't stomach Protein Drinks. ugh

i think it's time to join a support group, just affraid i'll run into people who don't know i had surgery. :[ what do you guys do in moments like these? would it be too bad to just eat cold, low sugar/high Protein cereals w/soy milk, yogurt, Beans and salads for a while?

Just make sure you get enough protein out of what you eat.

Well took me awhile but I had my 3 month check up today :) Down 70 pounds. Ugh I need to start taking Vitamins but I don't. Idk why. For some reason I have a block on not want to take them. Also these last 3 pounds in the 200's are KILLING me. I have my graduation ceremony May 11th all I want to be is under 200 pounds but I've been the same weight for a month now :(

I've been lingering in the same 5lb range for a while too. The weight loss has slowed significantly in the last month. Seems like most weeks I barely lose a pound.

Now that we're all in the 3-4 month post-op range, are people finding it harder to follow the rules? I know I am. I don't necessarily mean the diet, as I still eat well and stay away from the bad foods, but what I mean is like: I sort of feel like I get it now. I don't have as many questions or concerns anymore. Life after RNY is just second nature, so I don't think about how I need to sip sip sip all the time, or worry about what I'm going to eat and when. I'm also terrible at remembering to take my vitamins. And I don't wait 30 minutes after I eat to drink. I kind of feel like I'm back to living my normal life, just eating differently. My weight loss probably could be better if I was stricter with an eating routine, but even a slow loss is a loss, so I'm happy.

I still have my days where I'm not hungry, and days where I'm a bottomless pit, but in general I feel pretty "normal"

Am I the only one?

My Partner's work hours have changed and he won't be home for dinner four nights a week. Any suggestions on acceptable frozen dinners for me to eat. (Healthy Choice, Weight Watchers, Lean Cuisine, or Adkins) ?

My doc says to stay under 27 carbs per serving as listed on the box. So many of those dinners have rice, Pasta, potatoes, etc. in them. There are some legal ones like lean cuisine's turkey and broccoli and there are others as well--sorry, i cant remember the names/brands. I thought that Atkins would be good since it would be low carbs but they are often high calories. I spend a lot of time reading labels but have found some good things. Just takes time. Good luck!

Try to up your Protein. I stalled for a week and upped my protein and now I'm losing again. Almost a pound a day. I had my 3 month today as well. Down 64. I have 40 to go to goal wait. About the protein and my appt. I told Dr about the Hair loss, he said only thing that would help is upping the protein. I told him I hit a stall upped to protein to about 86-90g and he was happy w that. Today I hit 100g of protein. Almost every thing I eat is protein. Plus I have a my fuzzy navel shake in the morning. I have 1 before and after work outs. I was told that having a shake or a high protein food within 30 minutes after work out will help burn those fat cells quicker and build lean muscle.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
