I survived! In quite a bit of pain because I've been without pain meds for a couple hours. My iv site blew and they couldn't get it restarted so had to wait until anesthesiologist was available to try to get a site. 5 sites later and I just got a hit of morphine. I'm soooooooo thirsty, but I'm NPO till morning.

All in all though it hasn't been too bad. I'd still do it again.

One week post-op and while better, that specific pain/discomfort is the only one that annoys me daily. GRRRR!

Itching!!!!!!! Omg! My belly itches so bad around all my incisions. Does anyone else have this? I've been putting on lotion but it's not helping. Maybe I need an anti-itching one?

I went home the next day. I was up and walking 3 hours after surgery. I was getting in fluids just fine and had good urine output. Walk asap after surgery, it really helps.

Do they put the I'VE for your morphine drip in your arm or in your hand? Also does everyone go home with one of those drain bulbs or whatever it is? I have seen several post about them taking a drain out and hurt pretty bad when it did

Im 3 days post op and i still haven't passed gas. Dr isn't too worried about it but the gas pains are wearing me out! Any suggestions? I walk once an hour around the hospital and still nothing. :(

Are you drinking warm broth. That has helped me 7 days post op.

Didn't go home with the bulb. They took it out the morning I was discharged. It isn't that bad. Feels more like an uncomfortable weird feeling.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
