On my way home from hospital everything went really well.

I am having a hard time drinking all my drink just because I feel full.

Hi post op family! I know I've been quiet but I'm slowly coming back. How is everyone doing?

Me--trying to get over this slight cold I have. :( coughs and my incisions certainly don't get along. My taste is starting to come back. Now I just have a constant dry mouth no matter how much I drink. :yuck: I'm so over liquids right now. I just want puréed foods. I think I'll be in heaven when I can have applesauce, cream of wheat, and yogurt!

Had my surgery on the 9th. Doing very well considering. Having a hard time find a protein powder I like.

My bag is packed... Can't believe tomorrow is my day and a new chapter of my life begins... Good luck to everyone having surgery tomorrow!!!!

Hi all! I'm 4 days out of surgery and I feel so bloated and gasey. I'm on clear liquids for 2 weeks. Anybody else on clear only. Hope I can do it. My main problem is I feel so constipated! I know, TMI! But I don't think I can take anything for it right now. Is this normal?

Yeah I had mine on the 12 th so I'm still on clears too. I had the same problem I felt like I would feel so much better if something would come outa either end lol. But the past cpl days have been like let's see how fast I can get to the bathroom though. Be careful what ya wish for.

Much like I figured' date=' last night was my first night home post op, and my kids and dogs were glued to me LOL I cannot tell you how grateful I am for my MIL. Here is a woman who had a massive stroke 7 years ago, lost use of her right arm, diminished vision in right eye, slow walking, etc. And since the birth of our first daughter in June 2006, she has come so far. She drives again, changes diapers, is completely independent again. So she helped take care of my 3 girls while I was in hospital and my husband worked 3rd shift. Even last night when I absolutely could've brought my girls home, she kept my older 2 and let me steal away the baby LOL Oh and did I mention she handled my 2 large dogs too?! She has been my angel thru this and I am even more in debt to her for this :-)

So, naturally the baby(21m) wants Mama to hold her and play on her lap, yeah, thats not happening yet LOL So I managed to distract her with shiny objects and keep her off my belly LOL. Last night, I don't think my dogs could've gotten any closer to me unless they dove into my pocket LOL Makes me feel good that I was missed.

Baby got up at 6am wanting Breakfast, so I make the trek into the kitchen, got her fed and took my meds. So far have had a popsicle, Not that I'm not hungry, but the pain meds make me so sleepy. I'm fighting them just to type this.

How's everyone doing? Has it sunk in yet, what we have done? It hasn't for me. Although when they weighed me at hospital Thursday, I was 2lbs lighter than I was on my last weigh in Nov 2nd. Not bad since I did not have a pre-op diet.

Sorry, I'm rambling and I don't know why.[/quote']

Wow. That's amazing! God speed and ramble on. That's what we are here for! I am 2 weeks postop with fluids diet. Started losing 2-3 pounds daily but now Im at 1-2 pounds daily lose. Figure that will slow too but doing well considering it all. After 10 days at home Im going back to work tomorrow. Anxious to get back in the groove!

I am two weeks clear fluids as well. Very tough. Accelerates weight lose though. Yeah there's constitution because you aren't eating anything. No biggie though. Eventually it will come. Don't be surprised if it is black, just make sure they don't stay black. Black means blood. Sorry for being graphic!

Don't worry. As you adjust you will lose that bloated feeling and you may have some dizziness from a lack of food. But your body will do much much better as you lose weight and heals. I love being able to breath easier and Im even walking 4-5 miles daily as well. Smartest thing I ever did was surgery.

Oh yeah! The diarrhea can be quite dramatic. Be very careful though. That flatulance may not be gas if you get my drift. It comes like fart, fart, fart, Oh no!!! So be prepared. Again sorry for graphic but there's no better way to say it.

I use a heating pad too. I think it helps circulation thus much less pain and quicker healing. And lately I admit Im doing wonderful.

welcome Amanda, so glad you found us.

Sounds like everybody is doing well so far. I know some have had a few bumps in the road but I am praying for each of you,

Tomorrow is a big day for some and I will be praying for all of you too,

A lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. Thankful for the ability to have a surgery that will get our health back.

Hugs to all. Sincere from the heart hugs.

Then it hit be like a building in the chest . Pain pain pain ooh my god pain. I must have not chewed it properly I got the foams and I had to throw up several times. Between the throwing up major pain in my breast area and back pain. I advise do not do this chew chew chew or I pray for you. I have learnt a major lesson . Which is stuck to your diet and chew chew chew or you will have major regrets. It may look good smell good but don't trust me don't
