Feeling Some Type Of Way.... Need To Vent Really Quick.

Recommended Posts

:: Morning Vent ::

I had my weigh-in yesterday and I told my doctor my concerns about my BMI. (thinking about the s**t is driving me nuts).Well I lost a total of 12pds and it dropped me to 40.7 from 41.9. I explained to him what the patient coordinator said, " if I am 40> by consultation i should be fine". He said " Well I can tell how much to not lose..." Thats when he came back with the "40.7".

Basically if I lose 5pds. I wont qualify... he expressed this and also said that

"it isn't necessarily bad to drop below either because any reduction of weight is a good thing,and if I can lose,I should go for it and avoid the potential complication that may follow RNY surgery." Although he didn't discourage me from getting the surgery, I felt like he wants me to give this 6 months an honest shot to lose weight. That's understandable! Then it hit me..., I know for a fact that the only reason I was successful losing pds. this month, or any other month, is because it was medication assisted! As soon as I stop taking them, the weight piles on with a vengeance!! I only have two more months of Rx for it and I can guarantee there will be a shift in the scale.. and not a good shift. I guess my case will resolve itself after the prescriptions stop. -_- *shrugs shoulders*

      Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

        Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

        Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
