first of all at this stage of the game and I guess for the rest of your journey patience is key. At 3 weeks your body is still adjusting to what it has been dealt. It is very likely you are in starvation mode where your body is going to hold onto its fat for dear life. Also how much Protein are you getting in... max amounts will show greater weight loss. Also are you drinking your Water and getting your Vitamins and exercising. If you follow protocol the weight will come off you just have to have patience.

I'm getting 60 plus Protein in and all my fluids. I am also taking my Vitamins and even working out. Your probably right about my body being in starvation mode.

I just had 3 weeks of no weight loss and then 5 to 7 pounds by the 4th weeks. The body is a weird machine.

I know it slows down eventually but I just didn't think this early in the game it would.

It's slow but watch you will be shock when the scales moves & you drop 5lbs or more. I was stall then thinking only I'll lose 1pound wrong like 5lbs I lost I got on the scale 3 times to confirm. Lolz

We didn't gain all our weight in weeks or months. It took years even decades. It will come off I hear there are ups and downs. I'm only 12 post op but it seems like its a journey not a vacation. We will all get there as long as we stay strong and postitive and keep moving forward.

Shonabear, I am in the same boat this week. I told myself this morning, no scale for a couple days..... It's very irritating. But it is truly amazing how much I am turned away from so many foods now. I am however craving Chinese food. Lol......we will get there...

Im in the same situation as you both. Im 3 weeks out from surgery and have lost 10 #'s. The scales have not moved since the first post op visit. I started at the gym last night and hope that will give me a boost.

I DO feel the difference in the fit of my pants and bra though- so it seems something is going on.

Patience we will have to be.It helps knowing we are not alone in the journey.

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
