Introduction

just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jason and I am just beginning the process of rout en y bypass surgery. I am 6'3" and about 297 pounds. I currently take blood pressure, gout, and zoloft meds. I also use a CPAP machine for sleep apnea.

i want to go through with this because heart disease is prevalent in my family. My grandfather and uncle (57 years old) bot died of cardiac arrest. My father just received quadruple bypass for his 60th bday. he also requires dialysis due to diabetes. he injects insulin. what should be my father and mothers "golden years" have turned into him being a very sick man and unable to do much of anything.

this is especially sad to me because my mother has worked since she was 14 years old and finally has the $ to be able to travel and enjoy other entertainment because she is basically tethered to my father.

I am hoping this surgery helps me break the cyle of illness and enjoy a longer and higher quality of life than the rest of the men in my family.

my surgeon is Dr. Pelosi of UPMC St. Margarets, Pittsburgh, PA
