Found My Walking Partner!

Recommended Posts

I'm finished all my pre-op testing and all I need to do I collect all the clearance letters and take them to the surgeon's office to be submitted to insurance. My ins requires no diet or weightloss prior to surgery so unfortunately I haven't exercised one bit. However, I did lose 17 lbs by just replacing all sodas and juice with Water. Today, my husband woke me up and told me he found a puppy! He is the cutest, little (albeit dirty) Maltese (I think) Having him inspired me to go for the first walk I've taken in over 6 months. Usually walking a block tires me out but lo and behold 45 mins later, we were still walking and I feel tired but great! Will post pics after I've taken him to the groomer and get his vaccinations. I feel like I have a walking partner now and a reason to walk! It may not seem like a big deal but I just wanted to share. Thanks for reading!

Awwww.... how nice. I walk/jog with my dogs on a daily basis (weather permitting). They are the best company, I have two dog and I walk each one seperate so I get double the work out in AND some one on one time with each dog :) Keep up the good work. BTW how did you make out with your letters ?

The key to starting a life long walking addiction? Get a four legged, fur covered friend! I cannot imagine my life, much less my walking, without my black lab. Best therapy there is!!!

He's 6 yrs old. In pretty good health. Tail was previously broken nd didn't heal properly so it's curled. . Has an ear infection which I have antibiotics for. I got him all his shots. I despise ppl that mistreat animals. I'm glad he's mine cuz he's a sweetheart.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
