I think all of us have struggled in many ways, I think it's safe to say that, we are tired of trying diets that don't work, we lose 20 pounds and gain 40 back. Ultimately this surgery would end all the struggles. If we use this tool right we can finally put the over weight person behind us. Our new journey, our new life begins. It's worth it, if we work it.

When is your surgery date? So excited for you. I had mine 9 weeks ago and I am feeling amazing. Every emotion you can think of you will go through it. But it is all so worth it.

I was afraid of something interfering with the surgery all the way until after I got out of surgery (now I worry I will screw it up). Even so much so I would not get rid of my fat clothes (I kept only a set of clothing my current size at the time) and put them in the garage and told my husband they had to stay there until after I came out of surgery. I fought bagging up the old clothes and was having anxiety attacks about what happens if they can not do the surgery, so husband agreed to put them in the garage but he made me bag up all those clothes. He then made me go shopping for smaller clothes to hang in my closet, the best decision ever. So the weekend after my surgery (Surgery was on Thursday) my husband took my clothes to a friend and they were gone. I had previously, like 6 years previously, been denied surgery, so I was sure something would happen this time. But here I am almost 4 months out and many more clothes gone and many more clothes bought YAY. Still in size 18, but I was 24/26 before surgery. I have yet to shop in real stores, just thrift stores so looking forward to that!

Congrats on the approval and it will happen and just think in 3 months you will posting similar things as I am right now in order to be encouraging to new members in their journey. that is what is so awesome about this forum. We get support and we can give it too.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
