Period Concern

Recommended Posts

okay so 7 months out.... experienced the same thing for 6 months. Super heavy... disgusting... last month... 1 day... Im 44 and now wondering if I am starting menopause as I havent had anything... just spotting for one day. It was actually kind of a relief to not have to go thru what I have been going thru for the last 6 months.

Im really ticked when I had my period last month around this time when it was due to end I started my liquid diet which was Opti Fast. Well I was on for for an additional two weeks because of the fast (says the surgeon's office) so I've only been off for about two weeks and here it comes again, and im having surgery on Monday this is the last thing I wanted to be dealing with while in the hospital. I guess it wouldnt be so bad if it wasnt so heavy but lately it's been ridiculous. Mother Nature sure knows how to show up at the most inconvenient time.

Yup the hormone levels are all wacked when you lose weight especially as fast as we do with RNy. My period was good for years...then the last year it's been hit or miss.....every 4-8 weeks. I was due for mine the day after my surgery and didn't get it so there went the 4 week mark...I didn't get again until 1 month post op...8 weeks. The next one came right at 4 weeks...looks like I'm back to normal. I was even tested last year for menopause just because it was so nuts but, they said I had no signs of it. 48 years old so I'm thinking it's starting. Anywho.......the hormones we are releasing with the stored fat will do some funny things to us.

My periods have not been normal since the 1st day or surgery. I'm having them at least every 2 to 3 weeks - not set plan or cycle. Just random. It is awful.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
