Okay I'm only at two weeks out but I can't do the puree foods...the texture in my mouth just makes me nauseous!!! But I know I need to eat something...I'm so tired of mashed potatoes and applesauce, grits make me sick and I just can't do the shakes. But I know I need Protein pronto!!! Any suggestions?

greek yogurt, powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury chicken Soup Protein, sf jello/popsicles, COTTAGE cheese, milk, peanutbutter, baby food, i even blended some meatballs with mashed potatoes veggies and some chicken Soup Protein at one point. you have to get it in otherwise you'll lag in healing and feel worse for longer (trust me, i was in the saaaaame boat and only JUST started to regulate and getting in what i needed)

goooood luuuck!!!

How far post op are you? You can always try, but dumping is tough and can lead to further complications ?

Only two weeks...guess I better not because I don't want to experience that at ALL!!!

It is SO hard at this stage, I am almost 4weeks post and am just now starting to introduce solids and feel better, maybe try a thick Soup (pea soup, clam chowder ect) will give you new flavors and a consistency that is a little more appetizing :)

I ate every Soup I could lay my hands on. I dont know how to make Soups for one so I ended up looking at the premade ones for the highest Protein content. Bean soup has a good consistancy, good taste and high protein. Hang in there this stage will not last long but you need to follow the guidelines so that you can heal.

You can try to chew carefully but if something gets stuck you will be sorry. tuna, egg, chicken and seafood salads are easy to purée and taste the same. They helped me alot. Also pureed crab cakes minus breadcrumbs before they were baked. Did my purees more like a paste than liquid.< /p>

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
