The juice has just about all the sodium in it and the noodles are full of carbs try like Campbell's select harvest light about 80 cals somewhat lower on sodium and lower carbs

Welcome everyone to this adventure. I hear your pain and concerns. My first day home after surgery was mentally devastating. All the wonderful eating experienced of the past were gone forever. At least that's how I was thinking. I had lots of tough days, being about 3 months out now, but I had lots of great days and lbs lost to show for it. My saving grace during the initial weeks: Shaved Ice. It was an unlimited source of crunchy 'food' that fulfilled my liquid intake. At times I would add flavorings or sugar free syrups, but ice thru my food processor saved me over and over. It even helped when my stomach was uneasy. Plus, no calorie counting with ice. Stick with your given guidelines, take it slow, and evaluate each new food you reintroduce to your diet, how it sets and settles, and how it interacts with other foods and fluids. Everyone finds the combinations that work for them at each stage of their adventure. The info in these posts are solid gold, but always weigh this information in conjunction with the surgeons instructions, as well as the signals your own body is relaying to you. Best of luck to all who walk this path...

welcome to the group! Yup it does get better.

When I first came home they were more concerned with me getting the Fluid in. My doc said try to get in 50 grams of Protein but, if you can't just make sure you're getting fluids in preferably 64 oz. I can tell you I didn't get all 64 ounces in and more often than not, Fluid was uncomfortable going in. Your new pouch will get use to it but, you have to keep sipping. After a while the pouch will adjust and feel ok taking in the fluid. I still have an occassional morning where my pouch is picky and so I switch from something cold to something warmer or room temp. Once my fluid intake is up a bit it gets better again. YOu can do it!

Skim milk (I get the skim milk that tastes like 2%) counts towards your liquids AND you get Protein from it. Any liquid counts towards your liquid if it's no to low calories. shakes that you add Water too also count. You will also find some liquids go down better than others. I LOVED plain Water before surgery...but after couldn't stand it! I used Mio and burnt out on that so switched to SF Grape koolaid and that worked. Now I can drink just about anything but, man I was frustrated at first too. Keep trying different flavors and temps. You'll get there!

it will get better :) Welcome to the losing side!

Well even if you don't feel it you have changed tremendously on the inside. I understand your fear I am two weeks today and still scared to eat. What soup did you have? Maybe you can try yogurt instead of pudding or even hello.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
