Hi NC bandsters,

Our group will be meeting in the University Area this Saturday at Red Robins @ 11:30. I hope you all can join us.

Please post so we have an idea of how many will attend.

Look forward to meeting you.

A lot of NC bandsters hang out at www.band2gether.net Both this site and that site are very informative and friendly.

sunsett...that is wonderful!!!! I was banded on Feb 2, 2009 by Dr V. I am so excited to find someone else that is seeing him and has done so well. If you remember way back 2 years ago, I am just beginning so the going is slow and tedious. I live in Fleetwood,, east of Boone so I attend a support group in Boone. Best of luck although you don't need it. If you have any advice for me this new in the procedure please tell me. Thanks... Denise

How are you doing since surgery? Just followwhat the doctor tells you. Don't rush things. You will do great. Who is Dr. V with? What are nutritional exercise classes. I haven't had any of those. I really need to be exercising but have not done so yet. I have a bad knee so limits me a great deal. I hope to get into a Water aerobics class. Good Luck and if I can help you, please don't hesitate to get in touch with me. This is my work e-mail address. My home e-mail is marthahjo5@alltel.net.

How are you doing today? Hope you had a good weekend. I did pretty good this weekend. At least I didn't end up in the emergency room. I made a big pot of Soup and will eat that for lunch this week. It is a Cauliflower chicken recipe. Very good. If you want I will send you a copy. Have a great day.

Thanks for sharing the other site! I will have to check it out.

Have fun at your support group meeting. I love the ones I attend at Davis Regional Medical Center monthly.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
