Help! I'm 4 weeks post op and haven't lost any weight in about five days. What the heck is going on?

You might be starting a stall...the things you want to make sure you are doing is getting your liquids in, making sure your Protein and Vitamins are getting in, and if you are doing all of that, make sure you are walking. If you are doing all these things then your body is just trying to adjust and its called a stall. Sometimes your body is going through starvation mode and will hold all weight because it thinks you are trying to starve yourself. Get your food, protein and liquids in and all this should stop.

I'm in the same boat. Barely lost anything weeks 3 and 4. I think I need to eat more. Especially Protein. Its hard! We will get through it!

I didn't lose anything week 3and4 then it just started coming off fast. It scared me but not to worry

That makes me feel better. The last week and a half the scale has barely moved. I'm 5 weeks postop.

I'm right there with you at 5 weeks post op. I think part of my problem is having trouble going to the bathroom. Even with stool softeners I still have trouble.

You are not alone there. It's been a long week. 41 pounds in 3 weeks is awesome!

I am now 8 1/2 weeks post-op and I went through that for over 3 weeks. In those weeks I lost nothing, well technically I lost but thats because I would gain a couple pounds and then lose that then nothing more. Then last week I lost almost 10 pounds but I am now back to gaining back a couple pounds and starting the whole process again. It sure gets frustrating, but it will start losing again and while I am not losing I do notice I am losing inches and while I am losing weight the inches are not dropping as much. So hopefully you measured yourself and do that weekly too. Cause that is what kept me motivated. Good advice it to stay off the scale for a week at least, but I was never able to do that, but sure wish I had the self-control to do it. See it go up and down is frustrating much more so than seeing a weekly weight only. But when it does drop daily it is so amazing that I thrive on it LOL. Just sucks when it is not happening.

I had lost almost 50 pounds, was .8 away from 50 but now I am back to needing to lose 2 pounds, but I will get there sooner rather than later. We all will make our goals eventually, just takes patience and working the program.

I was having the same issue until Lebim told me to increase the Protein and Water which I did. I've noticed the weight is coming off. We are required to consume 80-100 grams of Protein and 64 oz of Water a day. So far I'm doing over 80 at times and myfitnesspal is a great tool. Hope it helps.

It is really normal to have stalls. Especially in week 3-4. I have found in all the reading I have done that is very common. Your body is going to go through stalls periodically while it catches up with you! Starving ourselves causes our body to freak out and hold on for dear life so just try to work with the stalls and know your body is just trying to save you and they will pass.

The weight will come off. Your body knows what it wants.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
