I just had my consult yesterday and they said they were submitting it into insurance. How long should this take?

It only took a day for them to let me know I was approved after they submitted to insurance.

It does really depend on your insurence. I had to get pre-approval, then about a month out they confirmed with what my deductable would be. (only 147 dollars!) With paying the highest insurence possible it made it a lot less expensive then my best friend who just had the surgery today. (1200 dollars)

I wish you the best of luck. you should call your insurence and let them know what you are looking to do.

Ok yeah I have 2 insurances and I don't think I'll have to pay anything but I'm wondering if this will take longer then to get approved and such. I have united health care and as a second insurance, Medicaid. I'm nervous about the lifetime issues/changes my body will be put through but I think that after I lose the weight and I work on keeping it off I think it will be worth it. I'm just nervous as I am only 22 but don't want to waste half my life trying to convince myself the weight will come off. If it hasn't come off yet and has been bad for over 10 years I don't think it's getting anything but worse ya know?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
