Well it's been a while since I've been on here. I am now 9 weeks postoperative. The first 3 weeks were defiantly the biggest struggle I've ever had to endure in my entire but I've made it through. I'm finally back to work and starting to feel a lot better. I'm down 55lbs since surgery which was April 3rd and down 85lbs since December

Hi Sierra.

I'm sure we All have had second thoughts. I can just tell you my experience. Im 44 had rny surgery April 15. I'm in Manitoba. I don't regret it now for a min. I'm down 56 lbs. I started at size 22 and this weekend fit into a 14 comfortably I feel better and find this experience amazing. Yes the first 2 days after I felt like I was kicked by a mule in the stomach but that was short lived the key realy is to walk as much as you can drink / sip a lot and get as much Protein in as possible . This past weekend I spend hours on the floor with my 9 month old grandson and realized how much I loved playing with him there and wouldn't have been able to before. I still have a long way to go I'm 213 lbs now but I'm enjoying this healthier life a lot more . Yes it's kinda weird how I'm never hungry and have to eat because I need to too and how my main focus is to make sure what I eat has meaning as I can only get so much in so it better be for a benifital reason. Protein protein lol I believe that following dr s orders are the key. Don't rush stages !

Hi all! I'm in northern Ontario, near Sudbury. I've had my orientation meetings and have my appointments schedule with the psych, dietitian, and a few others on July 2nd.

I'm trying to prepare myself as much as I can and show them how ready I am for this! I quit drinking pop in April and have recently started journaling my meals. When I finally get my surgery date it will be in Toronto.

I'm a 37 year old married mother of a 12 year old girl. My current weight is 276. I can't wait to get this done!

Hello again :-) Where are all the Canadians? We really should try to get more active on here;-)

Well I am 6 weeks post op and doing well. I had no problems since I left the hospital. I actually get scared saying that, just waiting for the smug fairy to hit me with a late stage complication!

I Have my first follow up today at Toronto Western with the nurse and dietician.

Hope you all have a great day.

Congratulations! No complications is great. I'm glad you're feeling good.

I've got my one year follow up at TO Western on Tuesday. Haven't lost much since my 6-month follow up so it should be fun.

I think all Canadians are out enjoying that nice weather. After all, winter is coming.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
