Why Do My Teeth Feel So Dirty?

am having the hardest time keeping the film off my teeth since I started liquids pre-op. Since they are mainly sugar-free, is it protein that is coating my teeth? It's a horrible feeling, I wanna brush every hour.

Hi, I'm getting the same thing and I'm 4 weeks post op. I believe it has something to do with the protein shakes. Hopefully it changes when normal food is reintroduced. :-(

I also have dry mouth! And the film on my teeth! I think the protein has a lot to do with it! I'm brushing constantly!

As a post op pt (5 months) and a dental hygienist this drove me nuts. I feel its the protien and all of the chewable/liquid vitamins. Make sure you are all using a soft toothbrush and brushing slowly in circles at the gum line. Don't forget to brush your tongue too. It helps & you should feel better. It passes. I also would suck on sugar free Mints.
