  1. So I've had a red rash around my incisions for about a week. Wed I'll be 3 Weeks post op. I wasn't worried because it was light pink and itchy and no Puss or oozzing so i waited till i was at my Dr today and showed them. She said its an allergic reaction to something either the stitching or the medicine they put in them during the surgery. She said its nothing they treat and it will go away on its own before 6Weeks. Its not on all six maybe 3or 4 of them. I read a few comments similar to this over the weekend and just thought I'd share in case anyone else comes across the same thing.

What I Will Miss The Most

I was wondering the same thing... Why can't we have gum?? I miss coffee i want to try some so bad but i don't want ulcers my mother had gastric bypass when i was in high school over 14 years ago and she had ulcers she never knew why but I'm sure it's the coffee and the cigarettes. That scares me away from the coffee. I do miss it though!

Remember to get extra fluids today! I've only gotten sick twice but it takes away allot of your fluids so the next two days you can feel like crap if you don't replenish them fast.

    People At Work!

I made the choice to tell my coworkers from the beginning. While i was going to my appointments i talked about the process and i think that helped. Some warned me that they knew people that had problems with it or it's too dangerous but i told them it was my choice. I work as a cna in a nursing home i only told the girls on my floor the big bosses and a few in the kitchen. yesterday people from the other floors were asking me how i was doing and how much I've lost. The word has spread through the building lol. But I'm ok with that it's a big support for me. I have had no complications so far and I'm doing great so the people that had doubt are now congratulating me!

    Some Questions...

I was told 60gm protein and 64Oz fluids. Also on soft food you can eat most things add long as you cherry them to ground or purred constancy.
  8. Ozzing Puss doesn't sound good. Does it have an oder? That would be a sign of infection. I would call the Dr tomorrow........ Mine have almost cleared up completely. The rash is almost all gone no more itching for the past few days and they look like they are heeling very well. I'm 3 and a half Weeks post op!!

  16. I'm pretty sure i had mild food poisoning yesterday. Tomorrow i will be 3Weeks post op. I was on my lunch break tried to eat half a pouch of tuna that i had opened 3days prior well i think it sat out too long cause i doubt it even made its way to my pooch felt like it say in my chest couldn't eat half of it in 30 min. Got up to go back to work and all of it came back up. had some tea and finished my shift. When i got home i slept and feel fine today. The tuna smelt fine and had no mayo before surgery my stomach could handle it i guess its super sensitive now..

Not Trying To Be A Downer But?

I FEEL GREAT! I'm only 30 and i was on no meds pre op. No underling health conditions but a long family history of them. I have felt great since the day after surgery. keep pushing my self to follow the plan and follow all the rules. Not that i haven't. But i Gretel great! I'm only 3Weeks post op tomorrow so i haven't bought any new clothes yet but it feels great getting into old clothes that didn't fit before. Yes i have energy and i love that i finally made the choice and had RNY!

    Food Poisoning?

I ate it a few times last week with no problem. Even my nurses at work agreed that's what it was. I had turkey and a cheese stick today and did fine.
  19. Yeah mine are itchy too! But they said i don't need to do anything they will go away on their own thank God!

    Really Gross Problem..

I had the same thing when i was on liquids! It came out clear then slowly turned brown over days and ass i started eating it started forming. My Dr told me that it would be liquid untill i was on soft foods. Very normal. It gets better!
  21. I get that too. Vitamins and protein shakes. Brush my teeth really good and make sure i scrape my tongue really good that helps allot.
  22. I went back to work today! I'm a cna in a nursing home very fast pace and i did great! Didn't get breakfast but i had my protein shake on my way to work and sipped my protein water all morning. Had a great lunch and made it trough my day with out any problems. I feel like i have been so blessed to have this surgery and do so well. My weight loss has slowed down but i know that will pick up again hopefully soon!
  23. I feel like I'm doing great! Trying to stick to all the rules! I make sure i take all my vitamins, protein, and liquids! Also staying active i really need to figure out an exercise routine. That's it :-)
  24. We have the same surgery date. I had no pain after leaving the hospital. Are you walking? Also they can give you somthing for nausea. Make sure your sipping slow and measure what you eat i can't take more then 2 tablespoons.
