Just Wanted To Say Hi!

Hi everyone! I just had the RNY gastric bypass on April 6th 2012 and just found this site. I thought I would pop in and introduce myself. My name is Erin, and would love to get to know some people who are going through the same thing I am. I have been doing pretty well so far, thank god! Scared to death something I eat may make me dump, so being super duper careful about everything right now. So far so good. I am on the puree stage week three, and its getting better now that I can chew a little...lol. Well, I hope everyone is doing well, and I could use any tips or tricks that can make the transition smoother. have a great day!

Hi Erin, my name is Christine. I had my surgery April 3rd. So we're about at the same place :). I'm getting bored with the purée phase but also sticking strictly to the diet. Mmmmm cottage cheese. :) I haven't had any issues with anything and hoping I never do. Just thought I'd chime in since we are at the same spot or close. Best wishes!

Hi Erin,

Welcome to the board. I won't have my surgery until July, so I'm still in my six months preop program. I envy you having your surgery already. Hope everything is going well.

Hi Erin & Christine. I had surgery April 4, so I am right around the same place as well. I agree puree is getting boring, I have 1 more week of it. I am totally scared of dumping too, being very careful. I have been very lucky as well with no issues with food at all. Good luck!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
