I was banded in 08, I should of done the gastric bypass now I'm going in to get revised but, I have to wait to see if my insurance will accept it! If they don't I still want the band out!! It's useless and I don't recommend it for anyone. Hoping 2013 will be the year for me at my goal weight!

I started at 230lbs and got to 168lbs when I found out I was expecting, my dr recommended I stay filled through my pregnancy but I was stubborn, got it emptied out and gained it all back while I was pregnant :( In my mind I though, oh I will lose it again after this baby is born and all will be back to normal!! I was so WRONG!! My band has slightly slipped, it doesn't prevented from eatting the bad stuff and I'm hungry all the time so my baby is two now and I weigh 210!!;(

I have been "stalking" this website for awhile now. I too was banded in 08 and are now seeking a revision. The first year was great! Got to around 192 (down from 293) and had plastic surgery. After that, nothing was right. Terrible reflux and multiple fills/unfills later and 35 pounds later, i now have a slight dilitation. Elated that i could now move forward since dilitation is covered under my insurance, i received a bombshell!! Previous surgery was self pay through a "Blue Center of Distinction". I too have BC/BS Illinois. The kicker is that i have to change programs to my place of work (im a nurse) and the program is very new and minimal support. I have nothing nice to say about the band and now know i should have had the RNY. On ward i go! Just wanted to let you know i hear your grief. I am currently 210 and have worked my a$$ off to get back to here. Im notlooking for the easy way out, just a tool i can use. And the band isnt it!

I went this morning and was a little bummed. No date yet, just another appointment and then maybe a date. I really thought today was THE day! I dont know why. They are now submitting papers for revision and i'm hoping no further testing will be needed. And i really dont want to keep waiting like raquel :(

It is very frustrating and emotional BUT it's comforting that I'm not alone-- then I'd really worry!! Keeping my fingers crossed that next week will be THE week for us waiting... ;)

I don't think the surgeon gives the patients enough information on the type if surgery they should get.

I didn't like the idea of filling of not so it was out if the question. I want to have only one gastric bypass 1 breast lift. 1 Tummy Tuck. 1 arm lift and that's it but only once. I hate thinking of going back & fourth dealing with stuff.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
