I really need to know that I'm not the only one. I have been post up for 3 weeks now I have been feeling really tired sleepy and not wanting to do anything all day. I drink plenty of liquids not eating as much though. I don't feel weak just lazy. In the mornings I wake up with this headache and kinda nauseous. I asked-my Dr and he said it was normal. Has any one felt this what shall I do.

Yep! I sleep longer, took more naps and sat more in the first month after surgery. You are healing, be good to yourself!!!

I slept a lot after surgery, still do. I have had a few days that I slept most of the night and day. The bad thing was I wasn't getting my liquids in, but my body sure did need the sleep. Listen to your body and rest when it tells you. You'll be back to normal before you know it!

Me too! I never ever sleep too many hours before surgery....now I'm feeling lazy the whole day... 2 weeks out!

For my first 3 weeks after surgery, I went from my bed, to the couch, back to bed again. I tried to make sure I showered and dressed everyday, and that I moved some. A "daily walk" might just have been a walk around the drugstore.

Once I started on soft foods, I found my energy returning. During my first real exercise walk I thought I might have to call a cab to take me the 6 blocks home. But I made it, and every day I got stronger. Now I am 4.5 months out, walk 4-5 miles every other day and have energy to burn.

Hang in there. It gets better. Good luck on your journey. It's going to be amazing!

The first week of surgery I was miserable and every chance I had to sleep I did. Oddly enough, forcing myself to walk made it better, which seems counterintuitive because you're already so tired. Even now, 3 weeks post-op after being at work all day (which involves the very exhausting task of sitting at a computer) I get home and I feel like I could go to bed for the night. I force myself to go for a 2-3 mile jog or if I'm feeling lazy, a walk, and by the time I'm done I'm not tired anymore. I sleep like a rock at night, but forcing myself to keep a schedule instead of just sleep was the only thing that seemed to fix the pervasive exhausted feeling.

I'm 3 months out and I still feel like that at least once or twice a week. Hang in there! Your energy level will start to rise as time goes on :)

I'm 6 weeks out and feeling the same way. Lazy! I have been beating myself up about it. I feel (finally) fully recovered from surgery, so I didn't think it was from that, but maybe it's related. I seem to get a lot done one day, and spent the next day (or two!) tired and sitting on my butt. No fun!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
