I went to a wonderful arts show today with my mother. The weather was gorgeous, there were tons of booths full of talented artists with great stuff for sale. We walked and walked up and down the aisles. It was marvelous. Granted we walked for HOURS, and that's not something I typically do, but wow am I feeling it tonight. When I got home I could barely get out of my mom's car I was so sore! The front of my ankle area, my hips and my lower back and screaming at me and have been for hours, even after resting. Yes, I could buy that I'd be sore, but hauling my extra weight around all day is sure reminding me why I want to have this surgery. Every once in awhile I'd catch sight of myself in a window and notice that I looked like someone who was worn out and struggling with a heavy load. I am. 100 pounds of extra "me" is a lot to carry around for 5 or more hours!

I mean, wow, imagine that! Pick up a 100 pound weight and carry it around almost continuously for 5 hours!! That's what I did today! Unreal!

Though I get nervous about the procedure, I really do know this is what will work for me. I can't even stand the idea of being on another diet. I have no belief that they will work anymore so I gave up long ago. The future holds this weight for me, if not more. No way.

Ink low what your saying. Something similar happened to me in Las Vegas shopping at the outlets out there in the morning then walking down the strip and going through all the casinos... Didn't "feel" it too much at the time but towards the end if the day and the whole night my feet were swollen, my legs in pain and excruciating back pain. Can't wait to get rid of my extra 100 pounds too!

It is amazing the little things that we noticed that others do not, I too have to loose over 100 pounds and I'm looking forward to it as well. I have been walking now everyday at least 30 to 40 minutes every day to get my weight down in prep for my surgery in Jan. You both off yo a great start continue to walk and soak those joints . I promise you it gets better,

Every time I pick up a bag of my dogs food, I think to myself, wow and I have almost 4 bags of food I'm carrying around on my body that I need to lose. I cannot wait to feel my energy come back after surgery

This happened to me this week at Disney. Excruciating. I too have at least 110 lbs to lose. Totally ruined my trip. What a shame.

I feel your pain. I'm a nurse, and the other night at work I hurt from head-to-toe from being on my feet for about 7 hours straight. I was having to move fast to. No great distance though. I have about 140 to lose.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
