I had surgery 1 week ago today. I am freezing. Even under the blankets I'm cold. Any one else going through this? Also every time I try eating like puréed Soup I get about 2 mouth fills in and I get a loud tummy and that gas feeling under the breast bone. Bodes it go away? Ay suggestions?

I had my surgery on March 6th and thought I was seriously going to freeze to death! I used a heated throw until mid May.

I was not nearly as hot over the summer and am whining when our pool is "only" 87 degrees. I think that is that I'm thinner but jeez, the first few months I have never been so cold!

Google Ghrelin. Its a hormone in the stomach that causes hunger. It is pretty much gone after surgery. It also regulates body temp. My whole life I was always hot until after the surgery. I believe the absence of this hormone has something to do with it.

Yes I have this problem as well, I come in from work and I feel like I have been standing in a cooler. My wife had the surgery but she seems to stay hot all the time now. She used to always be cold before the surgery we have now changed places.

I experienced this big time after surgery. I used to keep the thermostat pretty low; my husband used to refer to our bedroom as "the meat locker." His big joke was that we could hang a side of beef in there. Har, har. But I digress. The shivers were pretty bad for awhile, but after a few weeks, it mostly went away. I do keep the thermostat higher on average than pre-surgery, though!

My grocery and AC are both cheaper now post-op. I'm in Jacksonville FL, and it's not cold here at all. One evening last week it dipped into the upper 70's and I wore a sweater.

The first week after surgery I was freezing, especially in my arms and legs! A friend who is a nurse told me that a lot of her surgical patients report being really cold right after surgery and she thought it may have something to do with the anesthesia. I'm two weeks out now and I feel like I'm back to my normal body temperature. I live in Florida though, so it's kind of hot here at the moment either way.

Yes, I am also experiencing being very cold. Where I live the temperature has been high 90s and 100s, so my family is not happy I keep insisting the a/c be turned off!

Same for me arms and legs...

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
