Can u take to much protein

Recommended Posts

I've had about 99 grams of Protein today is that to much. Being a female should I just stick to the 64g a day. Anyone know...

Not too much. I try to stay between 60-100. Average 80.

My understanding of to much Protein is that once you hit the amount your body can absorb for the day then it all basically runs through you and really doesn't make any difference. That's what I have read anyways. :)

Unless you have kidney disease, or some other sort of metabolic problem, no, not too much.

You have to remember too, your body can only absorb 30-40 grams of Protein at once.

But unless you've got kidney issues I don't think it'll hurt. Especially if you're working out ;)

How can you get that much in? I get diarrhea with the Protein Shakes, and am having problems getting even 30!

I'm 3 weeks out and rarely drink Protein shakes and get 60-80 a day. I personally eat 3 meals and 2 Snacks every 2-3 hours and put Protein first. I have been super crazy about chicken as of late.

I think it depends on height, goal weight, etc., but my doctor said a minimum of 80 grams for me. They want me to get 80 to 110 grams a day. I'm 5'8"

Whatever Protein ur body cant use ull pee out. Learned that in college nutrition class. Body builders who drink like 150gms of protein a day are literally putting it down the toilet!

Ok thanks for the advice an I was on the bothhouse Protein Drink :-( they didn't have enough Protein an wayyyyyyyy to much sugar. My system has never been regular, so I'm not in the bathroom. I'm now back on my Unjury :-) with soy milk or almond. Today is just day two. The last six months I've been over eating bc I was stressed. No job an raising my son. I'm ready to lose this weight I'm going back to just the shakes Water an soy burgers. I'm determine to lose 30 pounds so my dad will stop smoking. We agreed on 90 pounds. I'm a year an four months out an haven't done my best bc I picked up old habits. Now I'm more focused n determined to lose this weight . Plus when I lose the 30 I'll be in the onederland :-)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
