March 2007 Bandsters

Recommended Posts

Here's hopin' I get an end of March date for surgery. I too am fitting it around my spring break...which begs the question, just how many of us are teachers??? LOL....well, hi all and glad to be apart of the March '07 class. :D

I'm one of those perpetual students :) Undergrad was just a stepping stone to grad school. I love grad school. Actually I am only part time now and I am waiting with fingers crossed to see what grad school programs I got into for Library Science. So keep them crossed for me. I should find out if I got into my first choice, my alma Matter, UIUC, sometimes in March! I want to be a school librarian so I can always have spring break :biggrin1:

I start my liquid diet on the 28th! Tammy, I also noticed we are about the same height ( I am 5'8"-- barefoot if that makes any difference- it does according to some charts), so since I am just an inch shorter than you, I think it will be interesting to see if our weight loss it at a rate that is at all similar. Or if it is going to be completely different! I don't know what your body frame size is-- I have a large frame and I love it! You have to weight more with a large frame than you do with a small frame, you know. When people ask I tell them my goal weight is about 170- we'll see what happens. My true goal is actually size 12 LOL. Right now I weight about 283 and size 22/24.

I start my pre-op diet the next day on March 1st! Only 2 more weeks!!!:omg:

I am actually almost 5'10"...5' 9 3/4". I have been recorded at 5'10" at some of my past Dr's visits, so at my first visit with my surgeon I bent my knees a little to make sure I was measured at 5'9" and recorded at 5'9". That extra inch makes a big difference in BMI and I was trying to get approved! I think I have a small frame. My wrists and ankles are very small and they don't match my body at all. We definitely have a different body shape since you are 5'8", 283 and wear a 22/24. I can barely fit into 22/24 (pants) so I think I am more bottom heavy.

As far as clothes, since I am a yo-yo dieter I have clothes that range from a size 18 to the 26 that I am wearing now. I can't wait to throw them all away and get into those 12's! I have seen a few threads on clothes swapping. Flabuless has a website on clothes swapping, but I don't know if it's up and running yet.

My doctor said since my bmi is over 40 then I should do it. To shrink my liver. He says usually your liver will swell when a person is over that bmi. Thats why my husband DOESNT have to go on a diet because his bmi is at 37 . and yes he is going in for lap band too. he is diabetic and a like 50-75 lbs over weight.

That is great!!! What a support you will be to each other! I am worried about how I will handle food around my husband. We have always been big eaters! :hungry:

Yep, I'm a teacher! It seems like whenever I do something major, it revolves around a school break! :clap2: I 'm hoping that this surgery will give me back some energy, because now I'm :tired all the time!

My pre-op diet is full liquids. I ordered some Medi-fast before and did it for about 15 days. Lost 13 lbs, but still have a 1/2 a month sitting in the pantry. I plan to do that for 10 days.

Hello everyone. My surgery is March 1, 2007 and I'm so nervous about it that I can't think straight. I mean I'm ready to have it, but I don't want to think about the pain afterwards. Does anyone have any ideas as far as Protein Shakes. I start my liquid diet tomorrow and I need something to give me some energy.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
