Hi everybody,

It looks like we are all so much closer to our surgery dates and especially so for those early November 'sleevers'. I hope that all is going to plan for you all and that there are no major doubts creeping in. I feel like I am over that stage. My only worry is the pre-op diet but I know it will be OK when it comes to the crunch...so to speak!

i have noticed that a few of you are quite worried about the IV...please don't...these health professionals do it every day and I have yet to hear of somebody failing to go through surgery beacuse of that issue alone. Just close your eyes, relax and it will be fine!!!

Does anybody have any useful information to avoid weakness/tiredness post surgery? I am a little concenrd abot that but I am guessing if I keep up my Protein and Water levels that should not be too much of an issue.

Ciao,

MrsSmyth

I have also been a bit concerned abot the opinions of my social group about this course of action to reduce my weight and have come to the conclusion that the l;ess said the better...especially with non-significant people in my life. I think that people who have not had to make such a decision have really no idea the courage and despperation it takes to make such a decision. If we recall ourselves....it takes much time and research to come to the decision ourselves. How can we expect others to understand the reality of when they have no real connection to the situation. What does everybody else think on this????

I'm the 12th of November, going to be in Mexico though hehe. Sorry we aren't surgery twins but still close enough that we could provide support :)

Me too! Which doc? I'm on the 21st.

I agree. I told DH, parents, and sister. I told my boss I negs to have a medical procedure. I won't be telling anyone else. I used to work at a super-safe, close-knit place, but not anymore. Nobody's business!

Congratulations on your 3lb loss! It is a lovely start to your journey. I am planning to start my pre-op diet tomorrow...3 weeks out from my surgery on 11/14. Doctor only demands two weeks but I feel three will help me get 'in the zone'. :-) I feel relieved when I see how difficult it is for American 'sleevers' to get insurance cover for their procedure. We have none of those issues here, as such.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
