I am eating majority of diet full of protein...do u think I an hungry or indigestion???

Are you taking a ppi? I know once I started with a good ppi the hunger went away. It is normal to stop losing around the three week mark and to not lose for a few weeks while your body adjusts. I didn't lose any weight my second month out at all. Then I lost 9 pounds my third...and pretty much lost between 8-10 pounds a month for the next 6 months. I know it seems like forever when you are in the middle of it, but once you get to the end you can't believe you are there already! ;) just stay positive! Good luck!

Proton pump inhibitor. like omeprazole/ prilosec, etc.

Yes, proton pump inhibitor....basically a med that shuts off your acid pumps. The acid in your sleeve can cause you to feel hungry. When they are shut off your stomach calms down and you lose some of that hunger. :)

I took OTC Prevacid AC

Does the Prevacid help with heartburn/acid reflux? I tried Pepcid AC but haven't gotten any relief. I have also tried Tums but nothing seems to help.

I stalled from week 3 to week 7, then dropped 6lbs in 2 days, and I've been losing consistently since. I'm 11.5 weeks out

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
