I was pproved to move on to soft fish (can this put cannes tuna? ?).soft veggies & runny eggs? .wants me to stay away from mashed potatoes (carbs). What stage would this be??what other foods fit into this stage?? And why am I so afraid to leglt go of my pureed Soups and try something new?? Anyone else felt this way?

Just curious but why did you have a picc line? I wasn't able to tolerate anything more than cottage cheese and yogurt at 4 weeks post sleeve. as for runny eggs, not a fav for me but I was able to eat them scrambled.

Soft food stage:( Protein items) cottage cheese, yogurt, string cheese, refried Beans (water them down the first time or they will come back up)

There are other soft foods but stick with the Protein ones to start so you don't slow your weight loss with the carbs.

I am 14 weeks out and still drink Protein shakes for my main protein consumption. I eat 1 meal a day that is usually a Soup with high protein count (since I can only eat 1/2 cup at that meal before I am full I add deli meat to increase the protein count) so I get protein and veggies at that meal. To add fruit to my diet, I mix the fruit into the Protein Shakes.< /p>

Wish you the best and yes I still feel afraid to add foods to my diet.

nikkoal

sorry about you having a pic line :(

glad this is over - and you ARE moving on :)

good for you!!!

you sound great - so way to go after an unfortunate time period

People are often afraid of the unknown

were you having problems vomitting - that could scare anyone from eating :(

you are in the "soft" phase

you can have cottage cheese, yogurt, cheese as soft foods

tuna fish is considered a soft food

you can be cautious about adding foods into your daily menu, but gotta be brave :)

you will be on solids sooner than later, once again you need to introduce new foods

39 lbs down!!! great

sorry you had problems - "causing" you to be successful in your weight loss

malnutrition, unable to keep fluids in :(

sounds like you have a good attitude :)

smooth sailing ahead

good luck

kathy

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
