Which Surgeons Are Most Recommend?

Recommended Posts

I went to Dr Ariel Ortiz and Dr Arturo Martinez at the Obesity Control Center. Everything went great for me and all in my group- there were 5 of us ranging from ages mid 30s to mid 60s. I was sleeved this past Monday. Time will tell how good everything goes but so far really good. No pain! Just gas pain occasionally which is normal!

I don't think that the doctors themselves do but they certainly have financial organizations working with which can help you for sure. Just ask whoever you want to book with and he or she will help you out no problem. With that being said I still think that borrowing cost with like a line of credit with your bank would make more sense.

Dr. Illan and Omar are the BEST! I wouldn't change one thing about my experience.

I'm scheduled with Dr. Ortiz at the MCC in February 2014. I have read nothing but amazingly positive things about him and everyone who works with him. All of the things I read on here about him have put my mind to ease. I'm so excited to have my surgery Dr. Ortiz and cannot wait!

I also had my surgery be Dr Ramos Kelky , and had an excellent experience. Would recommend him 110%

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
