August sleevers progress

Recommended Posts

Surgery date 8/12

Highest weight at beginning of process 300

Weight at pre op w/surgeon 285

Weight on surgery day 268

Weight at two week follow up 255

Today's weight 250

My biggest hurdle was discovering I'm allergic to the Protein drinks... Which is so not awesome! Leave it to me to be allergic to (and have a crazy allergic reaction to) the one thing a Barriatric patient needs for getting in Protein ...

I am 10 days post op and I can't get my Protein in at all.....I'm still on clears so I have to do the shakes and I've tried 5 different kinds/flavors with different ways and they make me sooooo sick..

Have you tried the Isopure clear? It's like Gatorade but not quite as yummy. 40g of Protein per bottle.

I'm in the same boat. I had my wls on 8/27 and haven't gotten any Protein Drinks down. They are all so gross, even the flavorless ones. I've been living on sf popsicles. Don't know what to do...

Where do the sale it?

You can get the Isopure clear at GNC or Vitamin Shoppe. They have many different flavors. I like the apple melon the best. Another thing I just tried are called: New whey liquid Protein. They are sold at Walmart in the fitness/diet area (near the pharmacy). They are in oversized white test tube looking things - 42 grams of Protein - its only 3.8 oz, but its kinda thick, so I dilute it in a bottle of Water. Again, more like a weird Gatorade type drink. I just couldn't drink anymore choc shakes and these 2 things have really helped.

I was sleeved August 12. Sooo sick of Protein shakes, like everyone else. I am getting the Protein in every day, though. Being able to eat food really helps so I only have to choke down one Protein Drink a day. Just tried Isopure grape and I think I can get this down. As others have said, like a weird Gatorade BUT it's not a gross imitation of a chocolate milkshake LOL. Tried sashimi for dinner and it was great! Could only get down about 2 oz., but having real food is so nice now, even if it is a tiny amount. My son says I eat like an ant. Teehee. I eat mostly cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, Beans, cheese, and a cup of nonfat milk every couple of days. Gonna try hemp seed protein next. Not doing so well with exercise but hopefully now that I'm feeling better I can get that going.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
