Anyone have an issue with that? No fever or anything, just congestion. Sucks not being able to take a decongestant!

My surgery is a week from today and I woke up today with some congestion and I was like "OH HECK NAW" and over dosed myself with Vitamins. I do feel better now but will keep an eye on anything developing.

By the way, for anyone who wants to know.. the berry flavor Bariatric Choice Vitamins are gross.

Get rid of the symptoms ASAP!!! The anesthesiologist may not let you have surgery! Do whatever you have to do!

Be careful. I started to feel a tickle in my throat & some sinus yuck the day before my surgery. Then after the surgery I almost ended up with pneumonia. Use that breathing thing they give you as often as possible & good luck. It's no fun coughing with a sore tummy. Antibiotics are a WONDERFUL thing!

Cross your fingers that you wake up without it in the morning! My orignal surgery date was 8-23, and I started to feel a tickle in my throat on the way home from my pre-op stuff at the hospital, two days before surgery. By Thursday though, it was obvious that I was too sick. I had to reschedule my surgery.

They did tell me though that they will usually do surgery on someone with a cold/allergies, as long as there is no fever and it hasn't lodged in your chest.

Good luck to you tomorrow.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
