I'm a 48 year old single mom of two girls, 16yrs and 12yrs. The hospital stay was a but of a vacation lol. I decided I was going to turn 50yrs at 150lbs not 250lbs. So here I go.

  • Okay! Feeling much better today! I went ahead and scheduled an appt with my doc and went with all my issues! He fixed them ALL! Told me to cut my antidepressant in half and take it!! Woohoo! Ju

I had mine on the 26th! Almost feeling back to normal!

I was sleeved on the 20th! My biggest issue is where they had the drain. It hurts like a mother there. When I walk I have to hold that area with a little pressure to avoid the pain! I'm on pureed foods and honestly not always hungry. Occasionally, I will get the shakes in the morning and I will eat a banana until I can get the protein going. Seems to work! Drinking at first was my biggest issue but now I'm on a pretty good routine of drinking the protein and water! Life is good! 24 lbs lost so far!!!!

Also new to the site and the surgery' date=' 8-29-13. Would love to connect to support.[/quote']

I was sleeved on Aug 29 also! How are you feeling?

Hey guys I was sleeved 17 days ago. But I had a question. I'm having lots of soreness/pain on my right hand side on my stomach I believe where they pulled the stomach out. Is anyone else feeling like this? Should I be worried?

I was sleeved on the 19th and that is the only pain I have. Soreness and pain to the right of my belly button. Had 2 follow ups and at both they told me it was completely normal. That is could take 6 weeks or more to settle down. Good luck!

Hay fellow sleeveers :) my name is Crystal I'm from Los angeles, CA I just download this app today and I'm slowly learning how to work it! I had my sleeve done 8/26 I went in weighing 239 today I'm 224 I'm so looking forward to this journey

Welcome Crystal, I'm glad you found us. I am so thankful for this forum. It is refreshing to share the ups and downs (downs as in pounds *pun intended*) of this journey with others who are experiencing the same thing.

I'm from KY. Had my sleeve done on August 28th. Also had 2 hernias repaired and lap band taken out. Just got to stage 2 of the diet. Having a hard time adjusting to not feeling hunger pains (like I've lost communication with my stomach) and not being able to eat real food. I went through a similar diet after lap band 5 years ago, but this seems much different. I can't stand not being able to drink to quench my thirst. Things taste weird. Things smell different. These weird and different smells and tastes make me feel like I want to throw up. I can't find a protein that I like, but someone has suggested isopure, so I'm going to check it out this weekend. I think I used the chocolate isopure powder after my lap band and liked it. I am scared about this. I knew it would be a change, but I'm worried I'm never going to be able to sit down to a normal (albeit smaller portioned) meal with my family some day. Does it get easier?

They say on average it takes about 15 lbs to drop a dress/pants size. Has anyone been shopping for new clothes yet? Right now, my pants are only slightly looser, I can't wait to start shopping for new clothes though.

I also had the band first. It's been 5 wks today since Ive gotten my sleeve. At first the protein shake I was drinking made me a bit nauseated however it went away. They do say you might not be able to tolerate some foods after surgery like milk for example. Also as far as the amount of food you can consume I'm probably eating about a 1/3 of a cup now where as in the beginning it was maybe eating1/4 cup if I was lucky. Isopure has a liquid protein drink too with 40 grams of protein 160 calories no carbs. I like the alpine punch.

That's exactly how much I've lost too! Keep me posted!

I was sleeved on the 29th. Had to stay an extra day due to nausea but gotta say I feel lucky I have had no pain at all after surgery. All I can say is I can't wait for pureed foods. Down 10lbs after 1 week.

I'm guilty!!! I started a couple months before I got sleeved, buying smaller sizes of course. I figured I still have to be cute thru out the whole process. Plus I have a cruise coming up so I bought some bathing suits and summer dresses that I hope to fit into by then.

Hi Sleeve Fans,

I was sleeved on the 21st. So far so great!! I did start out slow I spent 4 days in the hospital because I couldn't pass that gas. I think it was the pain meds. Because as soon as I stopped them the gas flowed and now I feel great. I am on the soft diet now, it is so much easer then the pureed. My NUT said it was fine as long as my stomach could tolerate it. I started 2 days ago so far so good, getting plenty of water, protein and all vitamins. I feel so fortunate because after 4 day in the hospital I was scared I screwed up.

I've seen a lot of posts about good tasting protein. If you like Chocolate Milk then you need to try " GOLD STANDARD 100% WHEY". The Manufacture is OPTIMUM NUTRITION. It is pure whey protein isolates it taste grate. I mix it with 8oz of nonfat milk, put it in a blender bottle and it mixes smooth. It is so good my 8 year old son even likes it and he don't like anything. With the milk it gives you 32g of Protein, if you mix with water it 24g Protein. You can find it at GNC or Vitamin Shoppe but I see it everywhere. It is much cheeper then Isopure about half the cost. I hope this helps and thanks for listening.
