    August Sleevers?

I'm also a revision from band to sleeve. What a different experience, right?

    August Sleevers?

I had the same question while watching this. Seems to me, since we don't have a "pouch" but a sleeve, things might work a lot better. I am a former lap band patient, so I understand how this applies to a band situation, but I'm not convinced that drinking while eating is quite as counterproductive to we sleeve patients....although I agree we have all been advised not to drink while we eat or for the time shortly after eating.

    August Sleevers?

I was sleeved 8/28 and I had diarrhea until I got to the soft foods stage (week 3). Some foods still give me nausea and I never know what is going to do it! As best I can figure, it's rich foods like mayonnaise and cream soups. I can drink milk just fine and eat cottage cheese like a champ without issue. I'll be 4 weeks post op tomorrow, so I feel your pain!

    August Sleevers?

I'm 3 weeks post-op tomorrow, and I think I'm feeling hunger.....I mean, what hunger is like now. It feels like I have a hole in my middle. Almost feels like I have to burp, but at the same time I feel hollow. Is this hunger? Has anyone else felt like this?

    August Sleevers?

I am now 2 weeks post op and trying really hard to get used to this new lifestyle.....because that's what it really is! A huge change in how I think and consume food! What's even more difficult is that food and I don't get along anymore. I just started on soft foods yesterday, and it seems that immediately after eating, I experience nausea for about an hour afterwards. I also feel like my nausea is intensified if I can still taste the food in my mouth. I feel like I need to brush my teeth after each meal! And, although I know it's a no-no, I find myself needing to sip water to wash out the taste of the food both during and right after I eat. Oh, and I miss chocolate! Thought I was gonna lose my mind last night trying to resist the urge to snack on some chocolate!

I'm not sure why they call it "mechanical soft diet", but my handbook has me starting it at stage 4 (day 22). [i guess I was wrong and I'm only on soft diet starting today (day 15).] All it says for mechanical soft diet it that you add baked or canned fish to the soft diet (cream of wheat, oatmeal, potatoes, soft vegetables, eggs, soft fruits).

    August Sleevers?

OMG! I am in week two and about to start mechanical soft diet tomorrow. The full liquid diet has been killing me! My guts gurgle and churn CONSTANTLY! I know this is gross, but I'd just like to be able to have a solid BM!

    August Sleevers?

I know I probably shouldn't have, but I got on the scale tonight. I was sleeved 8/28. As of 9/4 (the last time I got on the scale), I was down 16 pounds. Tonight it said I was up 1.5 pounds. This can't be right. I have barely eaten anything the last two days because everything keeps making me nauseous! Ugh! So frustrated!

    August Sleevers?

Boy, you said it! I'm trying really hard to hang in there, trying to be patient for the recovery, but really having a hard time not being able to eat like I used to. Like someone I know reminded me, I have to change from "live to eat" to "eat to live"!

    August Sleevers?

I'm also a revision from band to sleeve and had my first bout of heartburn as I woke up with morning. Had a throat full of acid when I woke up. I actually developed acid reflux with the band, but my surgeon said that should go away about 3 months after the sleeve. I was sleeved on 8/28 in Lexington, KY.

    August Sleevers?

I'm from KY. Had my sleeve done on August 28th. Also had 2 hernias repaired and lap band taken out. Just got to stage 2 of the diet. Having a hard time adjusting to not feeling hunger pains (like I've lost communication with my stomach) and not being able to eat real food. I went through a similar diet after lap band 5 years ago, but this seems much different. I can't stand not being able to drink to quench my thirst. Things taste weird. Things smell different. These weird and different smells and tastes make me feel like I want to throw up. I can't find a protein that I like, but someone has suggested isopure, so I'm going to check it out this weekend. I think I used the chocolate isopure powder after my lap band and liked it. I am scared about this. I knew it would be a change, but I'm worried I'm never going to be able to sit down to a normal (albeit smaller portioned) meal with my family some day. Does it get easier?

    August Sleevers?

I was sleeved on 8/28. Just doing my best to hang in there right now. Trying to get down vitamins, protein and water. I miss food.
