2nd fill today

Recommended Posts

Okay, Gang. I went for my 2nd fill today. I wanted to feel a little

more restriction; looking for that sweet spot. Well, bit of a

nightmare! Dr. couldn't get the needle "in the middle" of port and so

pain this time. Anyhow, the doc was very nice about it, but I'm

wondering why at one point (when he thought he had the needle in) I

suddenly felt very dizzy (enough to almost pass out!) and thought I was

going to throw up. He took all of the fill out and then put more in.

Anyone else experience this? Any thoughts?

If anyone has found their "sweet spot", can you explain to us what it

feels like to you? I would love to hear about this.

Kat.

I'm at my sweet spot. I have 3ccs in a 10cc band (which holds up to 4.2ccs). It feels really good. I eat like a bird, I'm losing and I don't PB that much. That is what I call a sweet spot. You can get there too. The fainting you felt is probably normal if you were in pain at all. It might have been a side affect and you may have not even been aware that you were in pain. Hang in there, it should be better next time.

If your doc or nurse does your fills by palpating, ask him or her to draw the saline first, because you want to make sure that

1- He/she is really in the port,

2- How much saline you had previously,

3- If there was a leak, he/she would not get any saline.

If he draws the saline, the needle still in the place, he can change the syringe with new saline added, and inject the new added amount. Your system might soak upto .5 cc so dont worry about it.

OMG I had my 2nd fill I can barely drink 3 caps full of Water. I can even eat but 3 bites of cream Soup, what should I do I am so thristy..

I would drink warm Water before eating anything, warm water opens the passage, and keep eating liquid and mushy stuff 1-2 weeks till your stomac adjust to the new change. You get used to it, but it might take a couple weeks till you start some solid foods. If you vomit continiously, talk to your doc for an unfill.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
