Day 4 of pre op diet

I'm on day 4 of the liquid pre op diet, my body is hating me right now. This is by far the worse day of the liquid diet. But I have lost 10 pounds already. My surgery is on Tuesday and I'm so excited!

  • It wouldn't hurt to maybe do your last 2 days at 100% liquids that will really help clean you out and make sure you don't have any undigested food in that tummy.

Day 4 was the worst, it got so much better each day! Hang in there it almost done. I'm getting sleeves today and I'm definitely excited for a few days away from those shakes lol.

Wow, I suppose I should feel lucky. I have no pre-op diet. Surgery is on Sep. 9th. Only requirement is clear liquids 24 hours before surgery. I'm not going food crazy but do you guys think I should stop eating solids more than 24 hours prior? My doctor is not concerned with weight loss before surgery. He says at my BMI it's not really necessary. What do you guys suggest?

the MAIN reason they told me about the 10 day pre-op diet was to shrink your liver so it doesn't be so bloated and get in the way of surgery, so in reality, I look at it as making it easier for the surgeon, and easier for myself afterwards because i'll be used to the liquids. (Frankly anything I can do to make the surgery more successful for him is a no brainer for me!)

I went 6 days and broke down and had some lowfat popcorn and half a cereal bar. It was a moment if weakness the day before my surgery. That said, it only take 4-6 hrs for the food to move out of the stomach.

It has been tough and I had 2 dreams last night that I ate solid food and I was so upset with myself... then woke up and realized "No, u didn't! Ur still good!" lol... its hard!
