Twisted Intestines

Recommended Posts

Hey, I'm 13 months post op. I've reached goal.

I'm feeling like maybe my insides are twisted. Had my gallbladder removed in Jan. pain moves around. Not to thrilled to call the Dr. Any ideas?

Oh my....well, I don't really like calling doctors either, but I'd do that before I'd take an online diagnosis from a sleeve website based on such a non specific symptom.

I hope you find an answer, but if it's bothering you I'd involve a doctor.

I thought I had a twisted intestine a few months ago...of course I googled and web-m.deed things myself. The pain I had was extremely intense while I was on vacation and it took almost 3 weeks to work itself out. There isn't much you can do if it is twisted or kinked up. My blog has more details of the pain and how long it lasted.

So, what leads a person to think of all things that a twisted intestine is the problem? I don't know about this in humans, but in animals it is nothing to fool with as it can caused damage/death of the tissue and require surgery etc.

For me it was the placement of pain...lower abdomen and the lack of other things...like I didn't have a fever etc.

I think I would call my doctor if it was me. Pain correlates with problem in body. Plus you will feel better with a medical professional opinion.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
