nearly 10weeks postop and loving life!

Recommended Posts

I have finally reached my first mini goal of getting out of the 200s and into the 100s.

I am 5'8, 22 years old. Starting weight was 235 and today I weigh 197!!!! I'm very excited to finally be back in the 100s!

My bra size has gone down from a 40D to a 38C.

Pant size from a 14-16 to a 10!

Overall I am loving my sleeve! I have been lucky to not have any complications or pain. I am able to eat normally and nothing really irritates or upsets my stomach.

I'm not sure if at 10 weeks and having lost 38lbs is a good pace or not...how is everyone else?

3.8 pounds a week, perfect!

Better yet is your size loss, marvelous!

You only have 57 pounds to your goal!

You will make it and go beyond, my prediction!

I cant wait to be in the hundreds only 20 lbs to go any tips???

for me, it was making sure I hit my Protein amounts every single day and staying active. On days I didn't eat enough or I didn't drink enough Water, the numbers on the scale would not budge. But on days or consecutive good days that I ate several small high Protein meals and drank lots of Water I would lose a half a pound to a pound over night!

When did eating become more become more normal. I was sleeved 8/16 and have been on a liquid diet. Can't wait to be able to eat salads and Fruits ...

When I went into the full liquid stage I was still having a really hard time eating anything. I could eat only a few small bites before feeling very very full.

Basically each stage of eating post op got slightly better/easier/more normal. I just stuck with the plan my doctor set up for me and by the time I got to my new normal eating everything was fine. I am able to eat literally anything without any trouble....only difference is I can only eat very small amounts.

what kind of foods are you having, what are the Protein meals you are refering to?

Protein meals I eat besides my Protein shakes (I have one a day and LOVE them!) are just things like beef, meat, hamburger patties, Beans, chicken, etc. I keep my carbs under 40g a day and I'm trying to work towards keeping carbs under 30g a day. My doctor recommends getting anywhere from 70+ grams of protein daily. So if I have a shake for Breakfast, then 4-5 small meals the rest of the day I am usually able to meet that goal.

I'm 11 weeks out and not quite to the 100's yet. I'm soooo weighting (pun intended!) to get there :)

But, I'm starting to get into size 16 now and XL shirts. It's nice to be able to start to buy off the racks again! It's been so long!

My bra hasn't gone down much though...LOL I'm wondering how much it will :P

2 more lbs then comes Onederland!! Bring it on!

Awesome job, Celina! Keep up the good work :)

Great news!! I'm just at the 8 week point and loving life myself!

I've been another fortunate one that hasn't really had any adverse effects, except for some minor food in-tolerances. I've gotten into a nice routine ... I love the Ensure Protein shakes and Greek yogurt, so I'm not having any problems reaching my Proteins. I've finally gotten into a routine keeping Water on my desk so that for the most part, I'm hitting my Water goals and I've been able to start exercising too ... starting with walking and now adding in the elliptical.

It feels so good to have to "retire' some of the former big clothes and I'm down 2 sizes in my clothes now ...

I'm still away from reaching the 100's ... but hey, hitting 250 isn't bad when you start over 300!!

Thanks to all the info on this site ... it has been a great tool!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
