Anxious, Excited & just plain nervous..

Recommended Posts

Hello there.. Well I got 9 lbs to lose before seeing my doctor again, so they can schedule an appointment for surgery.. But It just seems like this last past days I can't help but think, is what if I don't make it out alive.. I got 3 beautiful boys, if I do say so myself. ^_^. and this is the second opportunity that I will be able to do this. About 5 years ago, I went through the whole thing.. Just to chicken out and not have it done. Okay just had to vent.

My date is September 4th. Less than 2 weeks. U won't lie. I cry at least a little bit everyday when the fear gets the best of me.

I know exactly how you feel. My surgery is this Tuesday. I don't know whether to cry, jump up and down or go running for the hills.

I'm starting to get a little antsy. I've never had any surgery or really anything medically invasive. But everyday I think about life now, and life how I want it to be, and this is a major step towards that.

I say that and I will probably be crying come Thursday morning!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
