Well I finally "came out" on FB and asked for no negative comments. I actually said in my post "if you have any negative comments, kindly shove them up your a**". This was followed by an overwhelming amount of supportive, positive messages. And then this beyotch. She had to go and say "my friends mom died from complications of dumping syndrome and now her children are motherless." Go ahead and shove that one up your ass lady.

Well good thing we don't have the dumping syndrome! Plus that seems odd I've never heard of major complications from dumping.

I was very open from the beginning on my fb page & I have not had one person not be supportive through this whole process. I am very grateful for all my family & all my friends both on & off of fb. I am so sorry that lady was so rude & disrespectful to you. What a shame she jsust could not simply wish you the best & leave it at that. I post weekly updates on my fb since the day of my surgery & I post weekly pics of my progress as well & I would have simply told her how disappointed in her I was & that if she could not be supportive she would have to be deleted. I hope everyone else on your page continues to help motivate you & support you on your journey to a healthier you!!!! I also hope yoy delted her.

I don't know but that's why I kept it to myself. I didn't want to be put under anyone's microscope.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
