I'm 12 days post op, and this morning I had 1/4 cup of nonfat greek yogurt.....with a a tablespoon of Protein powder mixed in.

I ate 1/2 of it around 8 a.m. and the other 1/2 around 10 a.m.-----probably took 1/2 an hour both times, eating slowly and small bites.....it's noonish and I'm getting foamies........did I eat too fast? too much?

I'm on full liquids, and didn't feel full....guessing I probably should have left out the Protein Powder.....I've been having yogurt and Protein supplements since tuesday....but this was the first time I put the PP in the yogurt.

Any input from those experienced with the foamies would be great......I feel like I've hit a milestone in my sleeved life LOL

Thanks!

If you are on full liquids, why are you eating yogurt? That's on the puree list for me... hmmm. Anyway, I woud say that plain non-fat greek yogurt has plenty of Protein so there's no need to add more. You are probs right, the powder is causing your problem; maybe drink plain Water every 5 mins or so and see if it goes away. I'm really curious to see how your body reacts to the yogurt in general. :)

Yogurt was on my full liquids list also. And pudding. I guess if I sucked really hard enuf, I could get it thru a straw!

pudding and yogurt was on my full Proteins list and I am the foamie queen.

I would say the Protein powder made it way too heavy. I don't see a problem with the quantity you ate, but the weight of it. Why did you eat the second time? Were you hungry or just trying to finish it? That's been a big thing for me to overcome and I've finally given myself permission NOT to finish my plate (and my kids' and my husband's and the leftovers and what's on the serving spoon and ...)

I have no problem putting a yogurt back in the fridge for lunch or even the next day. It's very empowering to control your portions instead of having the food control you.

Do not drink when you have the foamies. That will only increase the time it takes to go away as well as your discomfort. In fact, if I drink when I have the foamies, I vomit it all up.

If you are a foamer, you'll figure it out. It's not fun, but it's kind of funny.

When you've eaten too much, your mouth and throat fill with a slimy, foamy, substance that must be spat. You cannot swallow it and it's sort of loogie-ish so you have to expel it. It keeps coming up until your food finally settles down. It's disgusting.

Yup, they are gross. Turkey meatballs seem to trigger them for me. :(

OK, I guess I must be an anomoly because I don't mind the foamies, I think it's kind of interesting. Maybe it's only been mild?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
