Stalled forever, should I start over?

Recommended Posts

I haven't lost any weight in about a month so I'm wondering to give this stall a little kickstart should I just go back to Liquid Protein for a little bit? This is only my second month out and I haven't lost weight since the first 3 weeks.

I lost last week after a month stall (started at two and a half months) and then again this week. I upped my fluids and my Protein rather than go back to liquids (I never used shakes at any stage as I wanted to be able to eat rather than rely on drinking my protein) so I added in two Protein Snacks mid morning and mid afternoon and it appears to have worked.

Check out your protein and Water intake and step up your exercise a bit, give it a couple of weeks and see what happens... but don't despair, this happens and this too will pass...

I've stalled for a little over 2 weeks now, and I'm about 2 months out too. It seems to be common around this time for some reason. But, your weight loss so far is amazing! In 3 weeks you went down 41 lbs? (maybe partly pre-op too?) Our bodies are probably adjusting and not sure what to do lol If you think about it, it's not possible or healthy to just drop...drop...drop...drop, etc without it stabilizing at some point (at least that's that I keep telling myself :) ) Hopefully soon we will both have more results! Hang in there! :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
