Lower Body Lift Fun!

Recommended Posts

I love looking at these results pics. My husband was talking about his hair line receeding the other day. I told him to use rogain and then in a couple of years to just get hair plugs if it bothered him. If it made him feel better the expense would be worth it. Then I said that when I lost all the excess weight I was going to want to get plastic surgery, like on my arms for sure (they are saggy now at no weight lost!) and maybe tummy and who knows. And that would be more expensive than hair plugs. And he just sort of sighed and said "I know." LOL. I gotta love that guy. He's always known what he was getting into with me though.

puddin, i personally dont ever call or ask men out . if they are into you they will let you know. of course once in an established relationship i will call and all that. how do you know if a guy really cares for you if he doesnt do the work. i have learned the hard way and now i know. i asked men about this before. they all say if they are into a girl they stop at nothing to see her. it sucks though. but that is just how i am and i dont think what is right for me is always right for others. good luck and you deserve the best . look how well you take care of yourself. you want someone to care about you as much as you do yourself. no excuses. keep up the good work. god has a plan for all of us. just wish he would hurry up with mine. cat

If we are recommending Dating books I have to put in two that I like for their funness and practicality.

Jane Austen's Guide to Dating is a good book to read for anyone who is a fan of hers and its fun because of that.

Dating for Dummies! Its a good practical book.

I love books! I'm a library student so I can't help recommending them-- its this urge of mine...

Where are you going to school? I was looking at UNT. I hope to start the program in a year or so.

University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. We are number one for Library Science! I did my undergrad at UIUC too. I'm taking courses now in LIS as a nondegree student so I am waiting on pins and needles to see if I got into the masters degree program. I also applied to the distance program at Milwaukee and the distance program at Arizona. I was thinking about applying to another, more competitive, distance program as well but I decided that I am applying to enough schools for now and I feel I have a strong application so I am just waiting to see what happens!

Its much more nerve racking than undergrad admissions. Back then I knew I had my choice of schools and I was winning scholarships and having recruiters calling. I knew I would get into somewhere good! Now its all so much more competitive (and expensive) and my GPA isn't exactly competitive (well my undergrad GPA)... It makes me want a brownie! But instead I'm going to type I want a brownie and do something a little more productive.

hey Puddin girl,

My time has come!! I am at the gym tomorrow for the first time since surgery. My bod sure needs it! Boy have times changed that I am actually excited to work out. I have to take it easy at first just to make sure any strains or stuff to quit per doc. the workout is pretty intense or it was when I left so we'll see. My trainer is excellent and it is a one on one session but my plan is to push myself but not kill myself,.

anyway excited to get the rest of my dobody tones like before. It is amazing what 6 weeks can to in muscle and stregnth deteriation.

How are you? kicken butt and taking names I am sure.

Brenda girl

Good for you! I'm so excited you can finally get that ass to the gym and kick some of it. Feels good, eh? Do you find that when you run there is a lot of pressure in your legs? The pressure has slowly subsided for me, but still somewhat there. What is your trainer having you do? No ab workouts, right? Apparently I'll be able to do abs in a week and a half (week 8). How's your swellling?

I still have quite a bit of swelling, but it is SLOWLY going down. Yesterday it was like a kick in the face, though. I looked like I was 5 months along. I got on the scale and I was 3 pounds heavier than 2 days earlier. I've GOT to be retaining mad Water. But I did a lot of cardio and a bunch of running. Yeah, 6 weeks can certainly wear down those muscles. I can only run at like 5 mph for now. I take a 1 minute break at 3.5 mph every 10 minutes for 3 miles. Hoping to be back up to 5.5 mph without breaks soon. My goal run time is an 8-9 minute mile for 6 miles come triathlon time in June. Tony can help me with that. The boy can run a 5-minute mile. His average speed is a 7-minute mile for like 13 miles. He's a cheetah!

Okay, are you LOVING that flat stomach of yours? I am so silly with it. I swear I do a strip tease in front of the mirror every night. I even put on my straw cowboy hat LOL! Shhhhh. Don't tell anybody.

Puddin you are such an inspiration. It is so awesome to see someone out there who has been where I am now doing the things that I have always wanted to do. It really makes me think I can get there some day.

This thread is corrupting me, lol! Not only do I want a TT and lift......now I want Thermage on my face! I am scared my TT will get put off. It was planned for this summer during my vacation, but now it looks like we will be selling our house and moving. Sadly enough I think I may have to wait until after we get moved. It is hard not to get impatient...I think I would fit into a full size smaller with this tummy fat gone. You both look so good I am anxious and impatient!!!

Well, the trainer went soft on me- 30 min cardio on the elipitical, my butt was tingling- only level 7 which oddly enough seemed like level 12. upper body with free weights- could feel the stretching with over head press so did light weights. Only a few knee ups and chin ups and push ups will work back up to the 125 I was doing pre-op. It felt good and I was a little nervous pushing it too far. I can however feel it today in the area where the ab muscles were sewn together. Today I will do cardio only, treadmill for 45-hr. so I'll see then about heavy legs.

Dang that swelling!! I start the morning FLAT then bam by late afternoon I have a deformed swollen tummy. I was out of the compression garmet my last appt. lawst Wed. He said if I wanted to wear it I could and I would know when I needed it, and again he is right. It feels like really really swollen feet being stretched, (can anyone realate?) so I wear the garmet and it feels much better. I did wear it working out also. it did help with keeping the swelling together and I felt tight- you understand that feeling dont you puddin?

I think my hubby likes the flat tummy better, he's got this new thing teasing me calling me his "tw" trophy wife. the other night we were out of town and he kept saying it and giving me crap, yeah we were drinking too, I told him one more time and he'd have to buy me earings, to my surpirsie, I was given 2 karet (sp) diamond earings- 1 each side. that was the trophy wife link some movie he watched he said. so, yeah, love the flat tummy and love the gifts it brings haha.

Oh Brenda, sounds like you're lovin it! I'm going to find a guy who loves me like that. 2k diamond earrings? Saweet. And you are a trophy wife. You're hot, babe :)

So you did ab workouts? Okay, I feel better about starting those on week 8 then. My abs haven't been funny for the past few days. They'd been tight and swollen before. Now they're okay, so in a week I'll start the ab workouts, but light.

I'm back up to running at 5.5 mph, but my knees are paying a price. I can do 5.5 mph for 20 min, take a 2 min break at 3.5mph, and then go back to 5.5 mph. I go 3 miles every day. Then I'll alternate biking with swimming (and weight training every other day). So I'm gettin like 2-3 hours of exercise in each day, in preparation for the tri in June. It doesn't feel like too much now, honestly. It did at first, but I slowly built back up to it and now it's all good. And running is actually easier without that flap of stomach skin! I feel... lighter. Except with all this physical activity, I seriously eat more. I'm much, much hungrier, for some reason. So I'm only losing like 1.5 lbs/week. But I can do that! I've got 18 pounds I want to lose. The goal weight keeps getting lower and lower, which is a bit of an obsession. When I told my trainer I wanted to lose 18 more pounds he's like "hun, that's just vanity. You look perfect already." But I truly want to be in the most optimal shape I can be in. I don't think 140 at 5'9" is unrealistic or unsafe.

And lianna, sorry you have to wait! I was super impatient. But think of how much freakin fun it will be when you have it. And yeah, it gets addictive. Instead of thermage, I'm having Titan treatments, the same as Thermage only a bit newer and less painful. There's a spa by my house that, for $2,500 will do 3 Titan procedures to help tighten your skin by rebuilding collagen (1 every 4 weeks); 3 IPL treatments to treat both red and brown spots caused by sun damage (1 every 4 weeks); 6 Laser Genesis treatments to help improve skin texture, pore size and fine line wrinkles (1 every 2 weeks); as well as 6 microdermabrasion procedures (1 every 2 weeks). Pretty freakin sweet. I'm doing it!

omg Puddin- 3 hours of exercise! I work alittle harder yesterday! the pull ups dont feel so great, it is the stretching down that pulls on the abs, so I only did 2 sets but I'll work up to the 4 I was doing. I did 4.2 on an incline of 8 with some adjusting up and down with 3 lb weights, cant imagine running, funny, my first thought was my boobs giving me black eyes, forgot those girls wont do that now, damn, no mental excuses. thanks for the numbers I will try 5.5 or close to it so I can "feel your pain" it is nice to have a target mph and I am a compitition freak.

what will you do for ab work? cant even think of sit ups now or crunches but I suppose that will be when I get back 2nd week of March. Trainer said lunges are next for sure as my butt needs tightened! yeah I know the whole thing (body) has gotten "looser" April 1st I am back to 3 days per week so then the skin will tone, just easing my way back for now!

Hey good luck and dont work on the scale goal, look and listen to your body where you feel "optimal" is where you need to be only you knows that.

Okay, is there a website for the Titan laser treatments? I'm really happy with my Thermage, but it did hurt! I'm thinking about the skin under my arms that flaps. Is that where you're having it? Let me know how you like it. Thanks.

Karey, here's the spa that I'm going to: http://www.premiermedispautah.com/.

I'm doing the facial treatment, and then in 6 months I'll do my underarms. Good luck!

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
